Since our June 13th eBlast had such a warm reception, we wanted to share some of the highlights right here, with you.  In the eBlast we featured homes that offered touches of nostalgia taking many of us back in time to relive the beach vacations of our wonder years.

Back to a time when when vacations meant making new friends on the beach or down at the pool and after hours of fun in the sun, a home-cooked meal awaited, —but not before rinsing off in the outdoor shower—because sandy beds are strictly off-limits!  We have several homes where nostalgia meets affordability, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Offering more than just a place to stay, they’re portals to a time when family mattered most and every sunset held the promise of another day filled with adventure.

Hammock naps were a must, and evenings were spent recounting the day while lounging in grandads overstuffed chair, or out on the screened in porch gathered around a board game. At evenings end you climbed into the top bunk, won by a game of rock paper scissors, and drifted off to sleep looking forward to doing it all again tomorrow.

In the eBlast we featured homes that felt like stepping back into simpler times, with their knotty pine walls, comfy décor, and amenities such as those mentioned above.

Dot's Dream - K1350

These homes are just a sampling of the variety of options there are to choose from when searching through our hundreds of vacation rentals. Ranging from cozy two-bedroom bungalows to expansive 12-bedroom estates, our selection includes brand-new construction as well as historical cottages that have been beautifully restored, preserving their original charm. Home's like Dot's Dream, built in 1947 with its cedar shake exterior, hurricane shutters, and covered porches equipped with wooden rocking chairs perfect for enjoying the sounds of the ocean just beyond the dunes. To homes with the latest in modern decor fixtures and finishes, some newly constructed, such as The Sandbar, and others recently renovated, like Shore-ly Blessed, all of course with a coastal touch.

A review left by a guest who stayed in A Shore Thing - K0036 may have said it best!

A Shore Thing has been our family's preferred summer beach house for over three decades. It has provided four generations of our family with memorable experiences in the Outer Banks. The house and the island hold a special place in our hearts.  What distinguishes this house is its remarkable ability to remain unchanged over the years. While improvements have been made, such as the addition of a pool in 1999, the overall essence of the house remains intact. It serves as a time capsule, transporting me back to my childhood with every visit.  Although some may find the house's imperfections, such as cracks, water spots, peeling paint, leaky windows, and inconsistent plumbing, to be bothersome and potentially disruptive to their stay, my family and I cherish these flaws. They contribute to the house's character and make it feel like a true home.  We intend to continue visiting this house until the ocean eventually reclaims it. While the amenities and furnishings could be modernized, we recognize that the primary purpose of a vacation home is to provide a place to sleep for a week and spend quality time with family. The house fulfills these essential requirements. The refrigerators keep your beverages cold and the AC has always been reliable in providing cool comfort after you've spent hours at the beach or by the pool.  For us, this house epitomizes the Outer Banks experience, and we cannot imagine staying anywhere else.

With such a diverse range of vacation rentals to choose from, well...
