House Great! Customer service and repair terrible
Got to house on Sat. Had breakfast and dinner Sunday. Go to turn dishwasher on and piece falls out(top spinner). Put in repair order with NO RESPONSE or conf that it was recd. two days later, I call beach Realty and they tell me somebody’s coming we’re paying and does show up and tells me that there’s a part that’s broken and that they need to order it. No ETA. Two more days go by with no communication from the realtor company. Finally, I get a message from the manager saying that you know they apologize and yada yada. On Friday the day before we are scheduled to leave my brother looked in the dishwasher and the broken piece that supposedly missing is at the bottom. The repairman didn’t look for that was ridiculous not having a dishwasher for an entire week for the amount of people that we had. A repairman did come the day before, but left us a note on the door saying that he couldn’t come in because we weren’t there and he would be back the next morning. He never showed back up.

Beautiful home
The home was beautiful and well decorated. Older but well-maintained and kept up with. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into the decorating of this home. The only thing that I would caution about the amount of breakables with small children. We had to put up some barriers to ensure all of the breakables were secured from kids. It was so nice to have so many games, water, toys, beach, necessities, and even wagons to carry things down to the beach.

What a relaxing time
We throughly enjoyed our time at this house. It was so relaxing and the views were amazing. Would definitely stay at this home again. My only complaint is the tv’s need to be updated. The guys needed to watch football. The remotes didn’t match some of the televisions. The house was very clean ( OD on the decorations though!!)

Multi Family Vacation
The house had plenty of rooms. However, less is sometimes more when it comes to decorating. The house had too many decorations which interfered with having space for our personal belongings. The closets were even decorated. Felt uneasy with two 4 year olds, a 6yr old and 8yr old that something was going to get knocked over or broken. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes, all types of glasses, mugs, serving trays, all types of pots and pans.The welcome bag was very nice and thoughtful with snacks, gift card, paper products, coffee pods, sm dish det,etc. Pool was great for the kids and adults. Also had multiple beach items (chairs, umbrellas, wagons, beach cooler, boogie boards).Good walking distance to the beach. Owner tried to think of everything needed for a great stay. Beach Reality did respond to majority of maintenance issues that were within their scope. Enjoyed our stay.

Duck vacation
The home was cerone of the most beautiful homes we've ever seen with fascinating decor. The beds were very comfortable. The views were perfect. The only issue we encountered was the dishwasher leaked and we reported it on Monday and never heard back. Washing dishes all week wasn't ideal for eight people.

Our 2nd Time Here!
We love this house and stayed here in 2017 and again in 2021. Great Location with all the amenities. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Duck. Only issue we had this time was the cleaners need to do a better job between stays. We found sand in the pull out couch and trash (water bottles and wrappers) stuffed between the wall and the bunk bed. Cobwebs on the frames of the beds. I think it needs a deeper clean but everything else like the kitchen and bathrooms were very clean. Just things we noticed from our stay. Will stay here again. Perfect size rooms for our family!

Lovely house with close access to the beach. Downsides are the over stuffing of every closet, drawers and shelves, making it very difficult to unpack.
It was the end of August and so many appliances called it quit. The property management was very good at helping with those issues.
The owners left plenty of beach toys and chairs, which was very much appreciated. They also left a welcoming gift bag , which was lovely.

Amazing Views
This was our first visit to the Outer Banks and couldn't be happier with this home. The views from both decks were amazing. It was a very short walk to the beach from the house.

Great Family Getaway
We six, (5 young adults and a 50 +) had a great time at Simple Gifts by the Sea! It's close to the ocean so got up early to see the beautiful sunrise and saw sunsets on the deck swing. We spent lots of family time with dinners on the deck, card games, puzzles, swimming in the pool and grilling on the BBQ. The book selection and movie selection here are wonderful! Loved all the beautiful and historical decorum. The owner called to check to see if we had any questions about 15 minutes after our arrival. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

The home is beautiful, has every thing that you would need. The welcome package was a nice touch, we had beautiful weather and fantastic sun rises form the upper deck. There is a huge variety of books to read. Five star location for SURE.

Amazing Place to Stay
This house has it all! It will not disappoint! Perfect location. VERY CLEAN TOO! Quiet with great views. We didn't even want to leave the house. Pool was great and the owners are so nice.

This property is gorgeous. The décor is lovely and interesting. We were always finding new pictures to enjoy. The property was very clean...the kitchen had every item one could ever need and the owner supplied a gift basket to get us started w items we would need plus coupons for Duck Donuts and Lighthouse Bagels! The pool was lovely...Our experience could not have been better!

The little things are important !!!! Love this house :)
This home is absolutely beautiful! I don't think my expectations have ever been exceeded so greatly. When we first got to this rental (after a 12 hour drive) we had to walk around and look at all the nautical decor and admire the vacation owner's taste. My daughter who is an avid reader enjoyed walking around and seeing a different book in every nook and cranny. The pool is a little small but very clean and even the outside is nicely decorated:) The kitchen is stocked better than any other rental we've stayed at. There are beautiful sound and ocean views, esp off the front of the house (we called this master the Ernest Hemingway Suite). So many cool touches from the hammocks to the sand display on second floor wall (we have now started collecting sand to start our own). The beach is only a few steps away (~120 yards I think) and it is 1.2 miles to the center of Duck (short bike ride or longer walk). Duck is such a cute town to shop, eat lunch or dinner or to stroll and just enjoy the views. There is a bike path all the way into town so we felt comfortable letting the older kids ride into town together (without the adults). The welcome baskets were pretty, helpful and unexpected. They have bikes (4 maybe), corn hole, ladder golf and a bunch of beach chairs and a cart to help take stuff to the beach. We did have a WIFI issue that was resolved once we called the office and the ocean access deck had a bunch of stairs so wasn't real easy getting the easy up and coolers to the beach...but honestly, the house is so nice this will not keep us from renting this house again. You will not regret renting this house!!!! I'm sure you will enjoy all the special touches as did we.

This house as you say is in a great location from the beach, from Duck Village and all areas you might want to explore. The ocean access to the beach in that area does have many steps, but in the near future the Town of Ducks and owners are getting together to widen the beach in Carolina Dunes, so beach access stairs may be made easier. Nothing simple about this house other than everything perfect
simple gift is the best house to make you feel at home! Nothing simple about this house. Everything is just perfect ! Great location and awesome views. This is our fourth time going, 2003/2004/2005 and this year August 2015. The kids were much younger than but remember lots of little things. Although now they are getting bigger, we need bigger beds. Perhaps putting back a double bed in the twin bed room. But overall it is a great place to go.

This house will make you want to stay in Duck permanently! We returned to Simple Gifts again this year and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location and the views are perfect! While standing on the top deck, we were able to watch the sunrise over the ocean and sunset over the sound. The house is a short walk to the beach and is located on a quiet private street. There was something for everyone at Simple Gifts. Our daughters enjoyed the pool and “gooseball” table. The adults appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, countless books to read, charcoal grill, wet bar downstairs, and beach wagon. The owners of this property are vested in making their guests’ vacations comfortable and memorable. They leave a personalized message on the answering machine for you and also provide a gift bag upon arrival. Simple Gifts is clean and cozy, making you feel as if you are at home. The only problem is....you don’t want to leave!

Excellent Home for Large Family or Multiple Families
Beautiful custom designed home with 3 accommodating levels and excellent views. Ocean view from 2nd level. Ocean and sound view from top level. Home is 100% furnished with everything needed. Outside grill area and pool area clean and well designed, large enough for afternoon pool parties with the kids and adults. Clean home, quite, and safe neighborhood. Very short walk to beach. Duck is great location in OBX. Road bikes to town everyday for groceries and ice-cream. 5-Star in every way.

Gorgeous views from a beautiful home
This home was beautiful! Perfect layout, beautifully decorated, spacious and overall just a comfortable home for us to relax. The views of both the ocean and sound were gorgeous. Personal call from the owner on our first day was so nice. Truly hated to leave and would definitely rent again!
