Perfect place for large groups of adults
Everything about this place is designed to let large families have a great time together, and then retire to their own private rooms with ensuite bathroom. It's more like renting a whole hotel than just a beach house. Great pool, large private fenced yard for dogs and games. Totally worth every cent!

We again enjoyed our stay at Silver Lining. The owner's maintenance of the house is appreciated which is a challenge where salt in the environment is a challenge. We're booked already for 2025.

Big house for a big family
We had a great stay with the entire family. The elevator helped us be together as much as possible. The younger family members thoroughly enjoyed the pool table and ping pong. However we did notice what looks to be mold growing in and around the vents primarily in the first floor but it is in the other vents also it was a great house otherwise.

Having 10 master bedrooms is perfect, with pool, yard and elevator! The only thing we think it could use is another washer and dryer.... With this many rooms, definitely could use another set. We love having ice maker and recreation rooms. All in all, a great house!

Spacious Home with great amenities
This beautiful home was clean very spacious and but cozy for our large (13) family vacation. The living areas accommodated us nicely; the kitchen area worked well for meal preparation. Every bedroom has a private bath and comfortable beds. We utilized the Ping Pong Table and Pool Table on the lower level as well as the enclosed pool and large yard. Our only complaint was the distant from the ocean; I would not consider it "semi-oceanfront", the walk was about 2 blocks.

Great Vacation Home
Thes house was everything the described it as. The 10 bedrooms each had their own private bathroom. Each bedroom was spacious, all were clean. The kitchen was well equipped. We were a family of 15 ranging in age from 5yrs. old to 77 yrs. old. It was a short walk to the beach and all made it multple times. All in all it was a great vacation.

Everything was quite enjoyable. The covered pool worked well when we couldn't get to the beach. The only thing is the fridge in kitchen would be easier to not be a side by side. If it could be either a top or bottom freezer, with fridge opposite of course. It was so nice having an elevator for me since steps and I don't work well.

Great for a large group!
We had a great stay at the Silver Lining! The set up was perfect for a large group, with bedrooms on all four floors to allow people space, but a great kitchen, dining, and living room area for everyone to gather for meal times, games, etc. It was a 2-3 minute walk to the beach, but there’s also public parking right outside the beach entrance. There were some minor repair issues, including issues with some of the sliding doors in the pool area. There are also no bathtubs on the floor with the kids’ bunk room, which was a little frustrating, but we made do. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again if we ever traveled with a large group!

Had a nice family vacation at Silver Lining. Staff was very helpful and replaced the shower curtain quickly after I told them it has some mildew on it. Great location easy walk to beach access. Had fun playing ping pong and using the pool too.

Perfect for our family group of 16
This house allowed us to offer family units private bedrooms and baths and many areas to gather together or to get "lost" in quiet time. The location was perfect for shopping, eating out, etc. and only a short walk to a not-so-crowded beach. There was enough seating so we could all eat together (important to us) and to play games and even hold olympic events in the pool area. The side yard was flat and perfect for relays and a frisbee game. Couldn't have asked for more except a few house flaws -broken kitchen drawer, and a few sliding doors on the pool enclosure that need attention, and a confusing trash system. Otherwise, a super family gathering place!

Beautiful Home for a wonderful stay
The house was large and spacious. It was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Plenty of room for everyone to gather and to have a quiet place when needed. Pool was wonderful and came in handy on rainy days. There were some areas that could use attention such as the doors opening the pool chamber very difficult to slide but we were still able to come in and out as wanted. Highly recommend.

Silver Lining July 2020
Overall it was a great house. Plenty of room for our family of 25!! We even had to make "you are here" maps for each floor. Only inconvenience was a leak on the ground floor so we had to deal with large puddles of water and then a contractor making repairs one day. Maintenance and housekeeping responded VERY fast however to our calls and text. Also, the pool cover does not open up according to rental office. That would be a nice plus in the future. All 'n' all a great vacation and will keep this house in our records for future stays.

Great vacation
We had a smaller group for a house this size, we loved our time and location. The house has some disrepair issues but they are not very important to the overall experience (which is probably why they are not addressed). These things should be known:
1) Pool ques are junky, however the table is nice- bring your que if you really want to play
2) Ping pong table is OK but again bring balls and paddles if you want to really have fun
3) the doors on the pool area are all broken- just get over it and expect they will not work- the pool itself (and the hot tub) are nice
4) the ice maker is awesome but be gentle as it is missing a pin that keeps the door on
5) The outside GFI was not working but the rental company fixed it ASAP.

End of summer vacation
Working with Leslie R was such a pleasure. The house was clean and spacious. The grandchildren had plenty of room to play.

Beautiful OBX Beach House
Very Clean, Very Large, Awesome for groups. Staff was friendly and timely on the few issues we had. Wish the roof on the indoor pool worked.

Wonderful! Love 10 master bedrooms and being on beach road ...having a yard to play corn hole and other games In was great. We love the pool and hot tub. Love the new furniture upstairs

Wonderful!
The Silver lining was a great property. The kitchen was well equipped. The indoor pool and side yard were greatly enjoyed by all of the kids and adults. Beach access was only a short walk away. The main living room TV could benefit from a sound bar. We have rented several houses in the KDH area, and will definitely book this one again.

Third time
This place is unbelievably wonderful. The rental company is very good at addressing any issues at all and they do it promptly. The owners here are very different from any other place that I have stayed. They listen to the input they value it and then make the changes as suggested. This was our third visit and it was wonderful to see all of the changes that they made over the winter time based upon the input of their guests. The only regret I have in making this review is that others might find this special secret and we may not be able to get in one day. Hats off to the great owners and a big thank you to the rental company.

Just right for a large group of 20 with private bathrooms for all
I have been renting homes for my group for years, this would be #2 On my list. Everyone had a great time. Centraly located on the OBX. We were all adults and enjoyed the elevator and the majority of the rooms close by the kitchen area for gatherings. I could return here again but we do go to different locations each year. Finding 10 or 11 bedrooms is a tough job they are stuff to find with bathrooms. You will sure to bring your own TP and paper towels and soap these items are not furnished

Outer Banks Fantastic Getaway
Great vacation home and location. Very roomy and comfortable. I have reserved home for 2019......the only complaint was no one ever came to check theater room. TV or movies would not play. We tried several nights for the 4 preteens that wanted to watch movies. Also, I am from South Boston , Va
