Fabulous OBX getaway house!
Our group really enjoyed our stay at Rankin! The house is in a great location overlooking the beach, and the main deck and upstairs decks provided quite a vantage point for watching beach traffic-(esp. close to high tide), surf fishing, and horses. While we were there, several groups of horses strolled down the beach, grazed in the dunes near the house, and even “clomped” on the walkway beneath the home. There is a view from every single window in the house, and it is well-appointed with kitch

Couldnt ask for a better spot. Waking up to the sunrise and the sound of waves. We go here to the rankin every year and love it. Nice job on the upgrades also. Hope to be there for many more years.

Beautiful location and home
We enjoyed a weeklong stay at the Rankin and look forward to returning soon. The house has everything you need, with a fabulous kitchen for those of us who like to cook. We really appreciated having a filtered water system and drinking water cooler, plus a separate small fridge for the beer drinkers among us. More importantly, we loved seeing the wild horses that visited the surrounding area and yard one morning. They are absolutely beautiful!

A Thrill of a Lifetime
I have always wanted to rent a place on the beach. This house is that! It was a 1-2 minute walk from inside the house to the water, depending on where the tide was. All three bedrooms are master suites, so all my family was happy. The only bad part was the bed linens and mattress covers. My bed was very comfortable but the mattress cover was ripped to shreds and rustled - a lot! The sheets were very thin and did not fit the beds properly. This made for uncomfortable nights.

Fantastic week
A true 4X4 beach experience where Mother Nature showed us the whole gamut. From angry seas, to beautiful calm seas. From chilly temps to warm temps. From can't see the horizon, to beautiful sun rises. Dolphins,and of course the horses.

Amazing location
The house is amazingly situated at the top of the dune so beach access was easy and views were amazing. We enjoyed the house and well-stocked kitchen. The house is nicely laid out with private and public spaces flowing well to accommodate everyone. Overall, all the kitchen needs a thorough cleaning of every cupboard, drawer, pot and pan but those are things we could easily manage while we were there without effecting our stay. The driveway can accommodate two vehicles but was a little tight to avoid cong

Wonderful vacation
This was our second year at Rankin House and we loved it just as much as the first time.
Fantastic location, everything was as described.
We had one small glitch after check in and the property manager fixed the issue right away.

Excellent vacation
We had a family vacation with children ranging from 7 through 17. There was something for everyone. We did not have one complaint of ;Im bored!
The house was clean and well stocked for anything that you may need.
There were a couple of repairs needed when we checked in and they were promptly resolved by courteous employees.
We have booked for next year.

Trip of a lifetime!!
Our rental home was absolutely gorgeous with incredible ocean views - I never wanted to leave!! My dogs also loved spending time on the beach in the waves several times per day, and we were blessed to see horses and dolphins on several occasions! This home had everything you could think of and I really hope to get back there someday!!

Location location location
The house was amazing! Location was incredible, the only place in the neighborhood with its own private beach access was a great perk. The views were spectacular, waking up to the waves crashing every morning and being able to walk out to the Atlantic from the bedrooms was a great way to start our day.
It would be nice if one room would have had a king bed, or at least not had a plastic protector on the bed. Thats about the only thing I would have upgraded.
