Visit downtown Duck for shopping, restaurants and more, or head north and explore the village of Corolla, the Lighthouse, or the wild horses. You truly have it all waiting for you at Persimmon.

Sanderling is a wonderful community, with private beach access, sound access, community pool and tennis. Home has privacy from the main road. The home provides a great breakfast bar for lunches. There is also a roll-a-way bed for that unexpected guest. Sanderling located in a bird sanctuary, has nature paths which are a treat for young and old alike. You'll return often to Persimmon for your OBX vacation.

Great Location But Needs Updates

We appreciated that the house was clean and very close to the beach. We had all the necessities. We would have liked some updated deck and screened in porch furniture. It is very old an uninviting made those areas of the house unusable. Landscaping is also in need of a trim. Most importantly, house needs more hooks to hang towels - even if just a coat hook at the entrance of the home. Rainy days make hanging outside to dry impossible and there is no washer or dryer in the house - so more places to hang towels would be helpful. I'm sure owners do not want you placing wet towels on rugs or furniture.

We had perfect weather this week in Duck. We like privacy of Sanderling community, access to beach, use of pool on Currituck Sound. The unit needs an upgrade of furnishings, kitchen equipment and landscaping.

The return of the Canadians

We have been coming the Outer Banks for over 40 years with the exception of covid years. Unfortunately my sister and I picked up probably some virus and felt exhausted the entire week. My wife was fine.Sanderling is always a great spot.We had a great checkin wand a wonderful conversation with Tirzah and Karen. They are both knowledgeable and welcoming!

Easy walk to the beach

The walk to the beach was perfect and the beaches are always wonderful. This area has fewer houses than other parts of Duck so there is no crowding on the beach. This was our 32nd year driving down to stay in Duck but 1st time at Persimmons. We have stayed in many houses and this is one of the better ones. It is set back and has the shrubbery has grown considerably since the picture was taken. You do hear rt 12 from the back bedroom. As usual, the beds are not great and the house is filled with furniture and kitchen supplies no longer wanted in a main home and the TV could be bigger. I actually did recommend it to a friend during our stay and we had decided to rent again for 2023 until we saw a $900 increase so now not sure what we will do.

Loved our little Thanksgiving get away! The cottage is small and cozy! Needs a few upgrades like new carpets but besides that was clean and met our needs. Sanderling is just fabulous and house was very close to the ocean.

My family and I had a great time in Duck! The house was nice and most importantly located close enough to the beach that we only had to walk a few minutes within neighborhood to get to it. I would definitely rent this home again.

It was a great time. The house was nice and a good fit for our family. Short walk to the beach. Only downfall is the brush around the house is seriously overgrown. It really didn't change our stay but would look nicer if cut back.

A salty treehouse

What a great hideaway!
We loved all of the porches off of the bedrooms but the well thought out plan to have the kids bunk bedroom without an exterior door.
Given the current pandemic it was nice to have a well stocked kitchen to cook in and laundry facilities on site.
Very short walk to the beach. It was perfect! Kinda don’t want to give it such a good review and have someone else book it next year.

Our family enjoyed this house. It is an older home and the property is quite overgrown. This makes bird-watching great and the price budget-friendly. It has a screened porch and multiple open decks, from which you can hear the ocean (and sometimes road noise.) The beach is a short easy walk from the house (5 minutes along a private community boardwalk.) There is an outdoor shower under the house and a grill. The cleaning company could have done a better job, especially in the kitchen, but after we cleaned ourselves the house was comfortable. The AC works extremely well and the kitchen is well-stocked with everything needed to cook and serve family meals. There were two bikes in the laundry room which was a nice bonus. Check-in was contactless and easy. The management company handled special requests well. We were very happy with the community pool, which was nice, large, its staff did a good job enforcing social distancing, and it was often deserted. We may go back this fall!

A great time in Duck!

We were some of the first to visit "post" pandemic. The house was clean and in a good location. A little "landscaping" around the house wouldn't hurt. It was our first time in Duck, and it's a nice town! The rental company was very accommodating, as they always have been! The beach was nice! Lots to see and do in the OBX! We love it there and will be back! The only negatives were the oven in the stove had an element out, which they did come to fix while we were there, and there wasn't a coffee pot, though there was one in the pictures. Minor details! It didn't detract from a wonderful vacation!

A Great Stay at Persimmon

Great stay at Persimmon! Loved the location. Very quiet and secluded but just across the street from the beach access and a short drive from restaurants/shopping/groceries. The house was clean, comfortable and had a well equipped kitchen for when we ate in. The only minor issue we had was realizing on the first morning there that we had no coffeemaker. However, it became a funny vacation memory though because my desperate husband got real creative and YouTubed how to make “Cowboy Coffee” without one! So just as we were about to go out and purchase our own, Beach Realty showed up with one! Apparently, the previous renters created a work order for it, so it worked out. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to come back again!

Nice house, well equipped kitchen. Loved not having to bring sheets and bath towels. Wonderful staff when we had a problem, quick to respond and resolve. Only suggestion is to trim the landscape around the house, very overgrown.

We had a great time. House is nice. It was easy to walk to the beach with my eight year old son with my two year old on my shoulders. The only downside was the spiders outside.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Duck at the Persimmon house. There were 9 of us and we all relaxed and took advantage of how close the beach was to us. Also liked the privacy in the long driveway. Grandsons rode bikes.

We loved the location of Persimmon. Just a short walk to the boardwalk access to the beach. Although it is not right on the ocean, it is close enough to not only see the ocean, but hear the waves roll in as well. The home was clean and comfortable. Bikes and linens were provided and usually they are extras at other homes for a cost. Duck is a 15 minute casual bike ride away....where you can shop or walk the boardwalk. We also took advantage of all the riding trails throughout Sanderling and their salt water pool for one afternoon.We truly loved staying here and Beach Realty was a pleasure to deal with!! They were very helpful and extremely attentive. They contacted us as soon as the house was ready and even contacted us promptly when a package arrived at their office for my daughter! For those that complain about spiders....I am very afraid of spiders. But some research will show you that the big yellow and black spiders are harmless garden spiders (Argiope).....and they are everywhere. It's nearly impossible to keep up with dusting away their webs. On the bright side-they are mostly all outside, rarely inside. We really can't wait to return. Due to other family vacations that take place elsewhere....we've decided we will visit OBX every other year and have every intention of reserving Persimmon again.

So close to the beach!

Excellent week at the beach! Persimmon is close to the beach, bike trail and all that Duck and Corolla have to offer. We hated to leave.

"Persimmon" is a lovely property and in an outstanding community, which was well thought out and made to be an oasis for anyone who stays within the community. Having all the nature trails taking anyone throughout the community and getting to see wildlife and small animals up close in their environment is such a bonus for everyone. You are right in that you are situated about half way between Duck Village with all its quaint shops and great restaurants and Corolla with great restaurants as well and many attractions for the entire family. The Private Escape

The driveway is fairly long and bordered by trees and vegetation,which could of been trimmed a little better. The house had plenty of privacy from the road and neighbors. You could see the ocean from the top deck and the interior was very acceptable. We enjoyed our stay.

We had an excellent time during our stay at the outer banks! Really enjoyed the house we were in and the weather and ocean views were as perfect as we could have imagined. First time we have ever been to the ocean but definitely not our last. Highlight of the trip was seeing the dolphins our last day! A+!!!
