My retirement get away
While my 9 friends and I enjoyed the house, the pool, the numerous balconies, and the location, we were not satisfied with the cleanliness and calls/texts to the office went unanswered or unaddressed. The house itself is very large and the 9 of us were very comfortable. Then amenities were great, the blue tooth stereo was a plus. Now for the beware: the outdoor areas were not addressed by the cleaners. After over an hour, I had the numerous pool toys left behind in one area,and the outdoor showers, and the patio clear of sand. I don't believe the patio had been washed down all season. Every trash can was full. Not only full but one had maggots. With trash day being Saturday, I can't believe that the cleaners would not have made sure that the trash was put out. I do not know when the floor was last mopped but it was not before we came in. Not all of the bathrooms were cleaned. We called the office, waited for the cleaners who never showed up, and were give a new shower curtain to replace the moldy one by the maintenance crew who were servicing another house. Yes, I did address these issues with the office as well as whether I needed to stop to check in. I was told that if I was not getting pool passes that I did not need to check in. Walking in to NO toilet paper was a little jaring. The Welcome package of paper products, soap, etc was non existent. I called the office and was told that they did not leave those at the rentals that I had to stop in the office to get it. Went to the office and was given pool passes... no package. So for size, location, ambiance this is a great place. For cleanliness, be ready to clean. For response from the office...

Greetings from Chester, VA-August 2023
First I want to say we had a wonderful vacation with our family, friends and of course our fur babies. This house was in a good location and enjoyed the lake views and the kids were able to kayak and paddle board in the lake. We also enjoyed having a pool in the back yard and are accustomed to having a pool. The property description was accurate regarding the location and amenities. Very relaxing vacation. For the downside...The house was not clean upon arrival. The shower curtain liner downstairs had a significant amount of mold on them which was disgusting and black mold which had to be present for a significant amount of time. The Keurig machine leaked which was later replaced by maintenance. Maintenance also changed out the shower curtain liner and took a picture of the amount of mold on in which he too also found disgusting. Maintenance also had to unclog the downstairs bathtub/shower as it would not drain. Maintenance also had to change the flood light bulbs. This was on Monday and check in was on Saturday. There were also ants in the kitchen and bedroom and family member woke up with ants on her. On Wednesday evening the stove/over stopped working and the emergency maintenance number was called and I was informed that maintenance would be calling. I still have not received a call from maintenance to date and have been home from vacation for a week at the time of this review. Anyhow, we later identified that somehow the stove/oven managed to come unplugged so that is concerning for a safety hazard. I appreciate that linens and towels were included with the rental but only 2 sets of towels were provided for each bedroom since one bedroom has 4 bunk beds. We are also thankful for the washer and dryer however, it took multiple cycles for the dryer to dry clothes. We would consider staying at this location in the future if maintenance issues and most definitely the cleaning issues are resolved.

Great stay at Paws and Reflect
Overall, great stay. Took refrigerators a while to cool off. Way too close to other neighbors. Big plus for lakeside fishing, pickleball court, easy walk to beach and the outside bathroom!!!

An amazing spot for people, and for Spot, too!
We had plenty of room for our 14 person group! The bedrooms were great, and there was enough space for people to find a quiet spot whenever they didn’t want to hang out in the great room— even our big dog, found his own cozy corner! Everyone loved the pool and hot tub and beach access was easy. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals for our large group. It was a wonderful break, and we would definitely rent this property again!

Thanksgiving at the Beach
The house is large and well-stocked with kitchen items. Everything worked, was a short two block walk to beach access and a path around the lake is literally one house away. There are tennis courts, one of which was marked for pickle ball. Harris Teeter is a mile away should you need provisions. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

For the most part this house was absolutely great to stay in. The house was clean, plenty of space, not too far from the beach. The only thing that was a bummer is that there isnt much of grass or yard and the pool isnt heated. Other than that we had a great stay.

Home was clean and well kept and in a great location! Dead end road with a pond you can walk around. Kitchen stocked with all the necessities and more. Allowed dogs but did not feel like a unit that allows pets!

Great size for family and friends
The house was nicely located, large enough for multiple families to have plenty of space. The pool was also a huge hit. Downsides, the house has no privacy so it feels like you are in the midst of a block party. The pool also has no shade which is a bit of a bummer in the afternoon sun.

Our vacation experience was top notch! The cleaning crew had a family emergency on the morning of check in and we didn't get checked in until a little later than expected but we made the best of the situation. The other cleaning crews from the are came and had the house spotless in no time at all and they were really nice people. The house is amazing there were a few issues with and the handyman came out the next day and repaired them. I don't want this to be a bad review I understand things happen, it's what you do to fix them that matters and these people went above and beyond. My mother-in-law was really happy with this place and that's what matters the most to us. Caught some nice bass in the pond next to the house as well. Dolphin sightings at the beach every day we couldn't have asked for a better vacation and house. We will be back!

Overall the experience was great. The house accommodated our multi-family party. Considering the recent rains the property was in relatively clean condition(outside covered with debris from flooding). The house contained everything we needed to cook for the large group which we do instead of going out. However, it would have been nice to have a gas grill available with the property(we brought our own). Cooking for a large group on camp grills does not cut it. Try cooking fresh caught albacore on a camp grill. On the would have been nice side of things, since we had a family coming from the mid-west extra beach chairs would have been a plus. The biggest concern was with the linens provided. A single bath towel per person is a stretch and it would be nice to have dish towels provided,we purchased.

Loved Paws & Reflect!
We had a fabulous stay at Paws & Reflect! Total number of family members in our party was 12, ages ranging from 4 to 73! The house was a great size and had great amenities for our group. Very pet friendly, thank you! Well-supplied kitchen! Loved being so close to the lake- made for easy fishing and paddleboarding!
Bedrooms were quite comfortable. We found our neighbors out back and down the block to be a little noisy at night, and would recommend some white noise or fans in the bedrooms to help with this since the homes are so close together. Also would suggest providing some small amenities to help start the stay each week (household items like a roll of paper towels, a small dish sponge and small dish soap) since these are often needed quickly but often forgotten in packing. We would totally stay here again, and certainly will recommend this property! Thank you!

Nice location and amenities
We enjoyed being so close to the lake for kayaking and paddle boarding and the walk to the beach was easy. The kitchen was better stocked than most beach rentals we have experienced and there was lots of space for our family. Electronic access to the house made check in simple. The only complaint our family had was that the lots in this neighborhood are very close together offering little privacy for the backyard/pool.

Paws and,Reflect 2017
We had a great week, few rainy days but warm enough. The house,was clean when we arrived. Few things to change-- needs new pots and pans and a good cleaning on ground level area..the cement pad area,but the house and pool area were great. Plenty of room for our party of 10 in this house.

A nice place to stay
House is located in a very nice area, close to beach and shopping, go-carts, bumper cars, etc. Kitchen and pool areas are showing their age as compared to other years we have been there. Cleaning/linen companies do an okay job, but certainly not what it has been in the past. Management company was very easy to deal with and accommodating. We did enjoy our time at Serenity Now overall though!!

Fun in the sun!
Very easy transaction . No going to the rental office to wait in line to pick up and drop off keys. A lot of follow up by the rental office via email, phone calls and a site visit on Saturday. The house was in good shape. Not too too far from the beach and everyone enjoyed the pool.

Great House, Fantastic Accessability
My friends and I stuck out a bit in this family community, but all went incredibly smoothly for everyone. It is a family area, no doubt, but us 20-somethings all had a great time. We were able to walk to the beach in 5 minutes, or fish right out back in the bay area. The hot tub was going into the night, and the pool saw its fair share of use. Outdoor showers are comfortable, and the family room with its deck's was where the most time was spent. Master Suite was more than decked out, and we all will have these memories with us for a long time!

Overall great stay!
Overall great stay! The house is less than a 5 min walk to the beach on a street with little traffic and a view of a small pond. The furnishings are a bit dated and there are small things that would make it nicer/more convenient. The dishwasher had issues while we were there that they fixed within 48 hours. The couch is a sectional but none of the sections stay together anymore. The porch swing fell out of the rafters on our last day as well. It didn't occur to me to look into the grill situation before we left, but the house only has a camp site like grill with no lid. Having a real grill, coal or gas, would have been a huge plus. So while its perfectly comfortable it could use a few updates here and there.

Nice comfortable house
When we walked in and the five adults saw the house we were all surprised at how clean the house was. We had a great time swimming with the grandkids in the pool. It was a great time in the house everything we needed was there. We all loved the house except for the heavy rain that knocked out the direct tv service for the one night we had a heavy rain. That was only gripe that we all had about the house.

Serenity Now Vacation Jun 28 to Jul 5
We really enjoyed the vacation at this home. It was laid out nice and everything was in working order. We had a few problems during our stay and they were fixed in a timely manner.

Great Family Vacation
The location of this house was great with only a short walk to the beach. We had 4 families with a total of 17 people and the house accommodated us well! A few recommendations would be for the house to have a better entertainment area for the kids and additional TV's in the bedrooms. Overall, a great experience!!

A Charming Home away from Home
This house is well maintained and clean, and spacious enough to accomodate 18 people comfortably. The private pool is outstanding! Beach Realty made rental and check in very easy; we had no problems. Accessibility to the beach is not as easy as the picture online suggests, as several new homes have been built in that area since the time of that photo. A new picture needs to be posted so as not to mislead potential renters.

Melissa, We are so glad this home met your needs. We strive to make sure that check-in is as seamless as possible. There has been some building in Ocean Sands, Section O. However, the road and beach access that is pictured remains available and unchanged. Ocean Sands has strict regulations about cutting through private property in order to get to the beach. We always encourage our guests to use the paved roads and beach accesses. They are in the exact same places as the photos we have posted. We hope to see you next year!

Wonderful time in this nice home
It was such an easy process with the keyless entry. The home was super nice and very clean. It is super close to the beach and the pool and hot tub are nice too! There are many shops close by such as Harris Teeter (open 24 hours) one way and then the other way are many shops and restaurants. I would say that 4 DVD's does not make a DVD library!! So bring some along with you! Also there was an XBox game console but no games. There were a few days that it was chilly, so it would have been nice to have info on the fireplace so we could have turned it on. These are very minor complaints. We had a fabulous time and it was super comfortable. Go to Kitty Hawk Kites in Duck to do the Jet Ski tours with Pringles. We had so much fun we went back for a 2nd time! The restaurant La Dolce Vida was wonderful - make a reservation!! The check out was super easy as well. It was really an effortless check in and check out!! Can't get better than that!!
