Our beach get away
We vacationed with a large group... 14 in all, from 5 different states. However, we were always looking for each other the house was so large. Between 5 balconies, a game room, and a pool, people were everywhere!! The kitchen was so fully stocked that we never ran out of anything. The location was awesome. We were in the middle of everything and just a short walk to the beach.

Family vacation
Renting thru Beach Realty was so easy from the start. The staff was very friendly and informative. The Get Away was exceptional! It was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed.. kitchen was fully stocked, bikes, beach equipment including carts that actually rolled in the sand and beach chairs that worked. The owner even stopped by. He was very friendly and kind. Our teens loved the location of this home, it was so convenient for them to walk to lots of places. The pool and hot tub were well maintained. The elevator also was wonderful too. I would recommend the Get Away with Beach Realty, and I would stay here again!

A week wasn't long enough
This was a great home. Ready on abit early. Clean. Set up is awesome. The owners definitely really care about their property. Loved the location!!! Very close and easy to get to beach. Close to great restaurants and grocery stores. Only issue was air temp at night. AC temps were good during day but at night everyone woke sweating and hot and uncomfortable. Was on a setting we couldnt figure out or controlled from an app. Overall house was amazing though. And we want to thank the owners and property management for such a beautiful home.

Great house!!
The house was great! The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you could possibly need. There was a pack and play and high chair that I wish we would have known about because we would not have had to bring them. We loved the layout and the pool. The pool was our favorite place to hangout!
The trek to the beach was a little more than we thought but that was our fault for not looking at the map better. There are a lot of stairs to climb to get onto the beach from the path. We had to contact the office because a comforter had a large urine stain on it and they were quick to respond. They offered to bring a new one but we washed it.
We would definitely stay at this house again, it truly checks all the boxes except for easy beach access.

We loved the house. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of blankets/pillows.
The location was excellent for checking out the local sights, getting to the beach, and going out to restaurants. We loved having the ice cream shop next door.
The elevator was key, the living space is on the third floor, it was awesome having a way to get groceries upstairs. We also had grandparents with us, and they utilized the elevator frequently as the stairs were too much for them.
We brought our two dogs; it’s great being able to stay in a nice home that allows dogs. Many times, rentals for dogs are not nice. This place is so lovely. You can tell they really care about the home.
The only suggestion I have is to add blackout curtains to the two roadside rooms which are across the street from Ramada. I slept in one of the front rooms with my husband. I had a sleeping mask, so I didn’t have any issues sleeping but my husband had some troubles.
We would rent again!

April getaway
Beautiful house I have no complaints besides when we arrived the hot tub was broke and the propane grill was broke however someone was sent the very next day to fix it. Also I dont reccomend staying in april if you're an ocean\beach person the ocean was freezing and the outside temperature was only warm for 2 out of the 6 days qe qere there qe still had a great time though.

Great house!
Home was beautiful and clean. Owner super helpful. Plenty of rooms for everyone to enjoy some personal space when needed! Loved having our pups with us! Beautiful House for Family Vacay

Our getaway at the getaway
We had a great vacation there. The place has a lot to offer and we tried to utilize it fully. Playing volleyball, horseshoes, pool, foosball, basketball in the pool, and relaxing in the hot tub. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Quilter's Get Away
This house was perfect for our sewing retreat. Plenty of space for all four of us to spread out. I was disappointed when I learned that we didn't have a view of the water except for a tiny slice between two hotels. It was an easy walk to the beach though. We had no hot water when we arrived, but Marcus came and found a blown breaker and it was fixed that day.
After we had made the reservation, I read some of the paperwork very closely and realized that we qualified for the senior citizen discount. I sent an email asking for it to be applied but never received a reply. I called about it right before we checked in. I was told that we didn't get the discount because we didn't indicate it when I made the reservation. I was very disappointed that the rental company wouldn't even consider giving us this small refund. It's in the small print, so if you are seniors, ask for it right away!
After we had made the reservation, I read some of the paperwork very closely and realized that we qualified for the senior citizen discount. This house has everything!
Arrived on the coldest day ever for Christmas and discovered the kitchen has all the utensils one would need for a stay here. Elevator came in handy for check in/check out and also the covered car ports. Played lots of pool and foosball and there were plenty of bathrooms for everyone.

Memorable Beach Vacation
The property description was accurate and then some. The property is so well stocked from appliances to games and books. There was not one thing that I could say that I was missing. You can tell that the owner cares about this property. And, it is in such a great location, that we hardly drove anywhere at all. It was October, and it was warm but still too cool to swim in the ocean, but the swimming pool was heated to a great temperature. The owner didn't skimp on the heat. It is right on Virginia Dare Trail which I thought might be concerning as to noise and getting in and out, but for the most part, that was not an issue. We could see the ocean waves in between the hotels (some reviews said that they could not see the ocean at all...yes, it is not oceanfront, but they don't advertise it as such. But, for the price and amenities, don't overlook this home.) It does have an elevator, but it is not ground level and there are about 5 steps to climb to reach it. I just wanted to mention that while there is an elevator, this house is not handicap accessible or really handicap friendly (but, again, they don't advertise that they are). This was our first time also dealing with Beach Realty, as well, and they were great to work with. They were in contact via e-mail and text messaging, and the property was ready when they said that it would be. I highly recommend The Get Away along with Beach Realty of NC. Great memories are made in this house.

The Perfect Week!
We had such an amazing week at The Get Away! The house has everything you need! Between the convenience of the elevator, the industrial ice maker, the many beach chairs/beach carts, the volleyball court, tiki bar, million kitchen gadgets and appliances... we truly felt so spoiled! We spent almost every night by the pool or playing sand volleyball with the whole family. You can truly feel the love and care the owners put into this home. It’s beautifully decorated and so equipped. We loved sharing meals around the gorgeous (and huge!) kitchen table. Our children also loved the fact that the ice cream shop was literally steps away. We already booked again for next year and can’t wait to make many more memories there :)

Awesome beach house in a great location
The Getaway was a fantastic place for our family vacation! The heated pool was a huge hit and the ability to bring our two dogs made it perfect. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are made for families. A really nice place that we plan on returning too!

amazing beach house!
Amazing beach house in Kill Devil Hills with everything you need! Our large family (8 adults and a toddler) spent a comfortable, relaxing week in the house. Ten of us traveled from Denver to the Outer Banks for a week of fun, sightseeing, relaxing, eating, drinking, and time together. We rented this home and were so happy we did. It had absolutely everything you could imagine you'd need plus some. We loved all the common areas to hang out together, the pool, the easy location to the beach, all the great restaurants so close (try the ice cream shop and Miller's). The Most Amazing Week!
We recently stayed at The Getaway from 5/1/21-5/8/21. It was am amazing time! The house was absolutely beautiful and very well kept. The interior was immaculate. When we went to cook our first meal, we were so happy to see all of the kitchen items that were available for our use. There was NOTHING we were lacking (and we are pretty high maintenance). The extremely large family dining table was a focal point for our large group every evening.
The outside areas were impeccable. The pool guy was there right before we checked in and also came during the week to make sure all was well. We also met the owner who was there to mow the lawn. We spent most of our time in the pool and the hot tub.
I can't say enough about our stay at The Getaway. Perfect location, perfect house, perfect amenities.

Such a great house that has been tastefully upgraded. You can tell the owners are focused to their guests comfort and enjoyment as this house is not stripped down. Special touches. Ktchen is large and was impressed as it has every gadget you need to cooked large meals or bake ( we did Thanksgiving week so lots of time cooking and baking). Very clean, great layout and have to love having an elevator in a house that house 3 floors!

2017 OBX Marathon Stay
The entire extended family convened in the Outer Banks to support runners in the 2017 Outer Banks Marathon and associated events. The amenities and location exceeded our expectations. We had such a great time at The Get Away! It wasn’t the best weather during the week, but the house had lots of options to keep the family entertained! I couldn’t believe how well stocked this house was for a rental! We enjoyed lots of pool and hot tub time, along with card games, cooking family meals, and making homemade ice cream. The kitchen was also organized very well with pictures to help place items back where they belong. The office and owner were also very responsive about a maintenance issue with one of the showers, which helped to ensure everyone had a great experience! Thank you for such a great experience!

Our vacation at this house was fantastic! 12 people (3 seniors, 5 kids and 2 couples) and 2 dogs fit perfectly here. There was more than enough room for all of us. We could even dine together at the big table.
Beds were comfortable, pool and hot tub saved us on hot days, proximity to the beach was great, plus the Ramada across the street offered a great lunch and drinks when we didn’t want to pack one for the beach.
The owners thought of everything - bunk beds, sound machines, pack n play, high chair, elevator, ice machine, cooler, tons of beach chairs and boogie boards, downstairs fridge close to the pool. Really the list goes on and on.
We will definitely be back!

Truly a "Get Away"
This home had absolutely EVERYTHING we could have possibly wanted... including the noise machines - which was great considering it was Bike Week in OBX. The office took great care with a concern as soon as we arrived and the remainder of the trip was wonderful. The pool and hot tub were great as well as the location to the beach. We will be back again!

This Get Away home has everything!
This home was amazing. It had everything we needed and was decorated very beautifully, just like I was living in my home. It was a rare chance that we had all of our family together and it was nice to spend it in such a beautiful place. We were able to bring our two little doggies and they loved it!

Home away from home
My family and I loved everything about "the get away" it was a beautiful home with all the amenities you could need! We had a problem with the TV...a guy came out to fix it the day we called said we needed a new cable box
..it was never replaced while we were there but it wasnt a big deal because Netflix worked. Also our grass was never cut the whole time we were there which was bothersome because on top of the tall grass weeds there were black bugs which didn't bother anyone but it wasnt nice seeing...that was just a very minor downfall we would still come back to this house and stay here it was very comfortable and felt very homey feeling! We truly loved the get away and cannot wait for our next vacation!!

Awesome Week
A great week of sand, sun and margaritas. The house was spacious, well kept and clean. The kitchen had anything and everything we needed. The pool was perfect for a after each cool down and the many porchesand swings were perfect for our before and after dinner drinks. We enjoyed the pool table a lot and we are considering buying that washer and dryer combo. Easy walk to the beach. Really an awesome week.

Excellent house!
We absolutely loved this trip. We rented the house with my extended family which included my parents, brother and sister and cousin (and lots of kids). The house was well stocked with anything you could possibly need/want. They took the time to make sure you will have everything you need while you stay there... even down to the little things...high chair, sand toys, beach chairs. It was a very quick walk to the beach (and the ice cream place.). I would definitely recommend this house and we hope to visit again!

The Perfect Place at the Beach
Best equipped and organized rental we’ve ever rented on OBX. The owners have thought of everything. We wanted for nothing except a garlic press! Carefully worded and illustrated labels throughout helped us make the most of this excellent beach rental. Close and convenient access to the beach.

Beautiful Cottage!
We had a great stay inside your beautiful home, the only thing that would have made out trip better would have been handicap friendly bath rooms. Thank you for making our stay great.

Extended Weekend
Very nice house. Great back area with a well heated pool and hot tub for April as well as horseshoe and volleyball court. Good kitchen and living room area. Tons of porches for everyone to hang out. Very short walk to the public walkway to the beach. Dog friendly company with bags and bowl provided, though we had a small dog so we had to block off the area next to the outdoor shower since he was able to get under the area.

The Thanksgiving Get Away
This was a family "get away" after the recent passing of my husband in June. We did not want to be home for the first holiday afterwards and this was a safe haven for us to remember and to begin healing

Vacation for a bunch of 60 year olds
Loved the house owners have really done a wonderful job of keeping a family feel to it.Home was well stocked,but we had one issue with main bath shower diverter blew off while one person from our party was taking a shower he is somewhat handicapped.Thankfully this did not end up badley.This happened on Tuesday maintenance showed up on wednesday said he would have to call a certified plummer to come fix it,no one ever showed up.This was kind of dissapointing seeing that it was kind of inconvenient and we paid for a master bath that we could not use.

Just Like Home
The stay at The Get Away was exceptional! The house was beautifully decorated, clean and fully stocked. The elevator was very convenient as well as the ice machine. There were games to play, a hot tub and a beautiful pool. We never had a need for anything. Chairs, carts for the beach and bikes too. G The location was convenient to stores and restaurants and shopping. We loved having our pets with us too. We would love to come back again!

10+ Just so Enjoyable, and great parking!
BEST ON THE BEACH! 10+, This home has it all! The beds were comfortable, the layout was awesome! so close to the beach! The elevator was great! Well appointed, Top notch furniture, and finishes!

Great Family Vacation
The Get Away was a fabulous house for my family's vacation (8 adults, 5 kids, and 1 dog). We found the house to be very clean and updated. The appliances all seemed brand new and high-end, including the largest capacity washing machine/dryer I've ever seen. Location was also great (just a quick walk across the road to the beach, and a few doors down from American Pie and Miller's Seafood and Steakhouse). This house had a lot of amenities that we didn't expect but enjoyed, such as an electric ice cream maker, doggie poop bags, boogie boards, beach chairs, and a beach wagon/trolley to haul your stuff to the beach. Also, for those with kids, the house had a high chair, pack-n-play, and infant bathtub. With regards to kitchen supplies/equipment, I have never seen a rental house so well stocked! My family cooks almost all meals at the house when vacationing and the only tool we wanted that the house didn't have was a citrus squeezer. The house has corelle dishes/plates for over 20 people which was great because we never ran out while waiting for the dishwasher to run. Access to the house was via key code which was super easy for all members of the family to get in and out and not have to worry about keys. Overall, we were extremely impressed with this house and had a great time!

Family Vacation
This was the perfect getaway for our family of 9 (5 adults and 4 children ages 5-13). The house is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished with newer appliances and fully stocked kitchen complete with Keurig coffee maker and a large pot for our low country boil. The porches are nicely furnished, some with swings, and there is a screened in breakfast nook off the kitchen. The kids really enjoyed the pool and our 5 year old learned to swim this week. We appreciated the pool toys, beach chairs, and beach toys provided by the owner. It is a short walk to the beach and the location on the Beach Road is close to American Pie, the Food Lion is only a mile away, Miller's, Bonzo's, the Red Drum and many other great places are nearby. Don't miss the Seaside Gallery, they have an interesting collection of art from the sea. We had an issue with a strong perfume odor on the draperies and bedding in one of the bedrooms and the bedspreads on the bunkbeds were soiled, but the realty company was very responsive and replaced them with loaners so they could be drycleaned. It was a minor inconvenience. We loved the Getaway and are coming back again next year. Thank you for a lovely week at the Outer Banks.
