The rental house was a good over all experience. The house was ready at the correct time. The rental company was good to work with. We had a electrical problem with the hot tub, they were quick to get it repaired with in 2 days. The only complaint I had about the property was the back yard. There was no shade whatsoever. The concrete and decking boards were so hot that the kids could not stand or play in the back yard without blistering your feet. We had to buy a pop up tent to provide shade for the kids to play or sit outside. Other that that everything was as expected about the property. We Would stay again.

We enjoyed our family vacation very much. The home was a great size for our family and we enjoyed the pool It was a little further from the beach than we would have liked and there were some minor repair issues with the house. The refrigerator froze items even when put on a lower than recommended setting. Some of the faucets leaked or were difficult to turn off. Overall very nice home with a nice game room.

While I was very satisfied with the rental‘s location and cleanliness, I do think a few minor upgrades/updates would have greatly enhanced the experience. New mattresses in all the bedrooms are overdue and the showerheads should be replaced. The kitchen is well equipped, but the coffeemaker needs replaced. Those minor changes would make a major difference in the overall experience.

Beautiful home and had everything you could ask for. Great location. Have stayed in OBX several times and this was probably the least clean out of the properties I’ve stayed at. Kitchen had sticky dark cola all over the fridge on arrival, stains all over the carpet and drapes, and some of the chairs were wobbly and breaking. Aside from a good deep clean, the house was amazing and had every perk! Would recommend.

Down By The Sea was a perfect name for this rental
This beach home was perfect for my vacation. 5 minute walk to the beach, and if you didn't want to hit the beach, you had a nice pool to enjoy. Great restaurants and activities in the area, also. This vacation was everything I'd hoped for!

Good experience - terrible weather
There was a stubborn off shore storm the week we rented in May 2022. Gale force winds ppm cloudy and chilly. We couldn’t use the pool or hot tub but enjoyed the house. It was clean, nice linens and the kitchen was well equipped.
We took our dog and he and my husband used the elevator! The location is superb. Public access to the beach is on the side street (Calvin Street) so not a far walk.

House was in very nice condition, and very clean. The pool was ok (water a little cold) and the hot tub was right on time.. Thanks for the elevator it made moving our bags and coolers very easy. Happiness at down by the sea! The property was better than described. As a family, we couldn’t have been more pleased. The idea of the pantry was great because we were able to put all our stuff in there. And the elevator was perfect for me who cannot do steps. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone!Because of the virus we did not go anywhere and the pool was our salvation.

family time at the outer banks
thr unit was very nice, had everything we need for our stay. was different with the current corvid19. we made the best of it. would do it again when this is all over. was just a good time to get away as a family to spend time together.

Best house we have ever stayed in!
The house is fantastic and it was very clean. It had everything we needed. The pool was a great size and the hot tub worked well. The walk to the beach was only a block, which was fantastic. We loved everything about our stay. We would love to book the house again next year. We just need to figure out a week that works.
