Dolphin Destination - D6650

We enjoyed a great view of the ocean without the crowds. We took the family to the Currituck Lighthouse and traveled up the coast with the OuterBanks Wild Horse Tour. Played adventure golf and visited the Wright Brothers Museum. As always the Colington Cafe served a fantastic meal.

Overall it was a very good experience. We stayed at Dolphin Destination previously, about 15 years ago and was pleased to see the property continues to be updated and well-maintained. The only downside was the never-ending stairs. We remembered the stairs, but apparently forgot that we're oldeer now than last time and the stair climbing with luggage was difficult. We dreamed about an elevator.

Overall a good week. House has a lot of charm but needs some updating. We love being oceanfront but were disappointed not to have a direct view of the beach.Great proximity to the Harris Teeter which was very convenient. Kitchen was generally well equipped.

We had a great week, thank you for letting us enjoy your home. The location near the beach was fantastic. Our kids lives running between the hot tub and the beach.
Note for the owners: the master bath toilet needs replacing, the seat was yellow, interior was stained and it made the room smell like a urinal. Other than that, the place was clean and welcoming.

We loved it!! The house was sparkling clean when we arrived. It couldn't have been nicer!!!

Overall we made great use of the space and enjoyed it. There were several issues that could be addressed for a more pleasant stay:
-The couch downstairs needs replaced. It was so old and dirty looking that we did not even use that space.
-There needs to be some window coverings on the two ocean side bedrooms downstairs. The sheers that are on there are nice during the daytime but offer no privacy which is a problem since the sliding door and windows are accessible from the decks outside.
-When we arrived the house had a terrible smell which was exacerbated by the warmth of the house. We were able to air it out in a few hours with the exception of the smell inside the refrigerator, but it was not a good first impression.
-Other minor issues included the grill and bottom deck need cleaned, shower curtain liner needs replaced, mirrors added to all of the bedrooms, stove eyes need fixed for pans to sit flat and cook evenly.

Property is certainly nicer in person than in pics. Owners have managed to update the property without losing the beachhouse charm. Felt way more authentic than the average corolla mcmansion.
Located at the end of a dead end far from any cross streets so a great place to walk a dog or for kids on bikes.
Cleaning service missed a few things but they let us in early so call it a wash. Beach realty customer service was noticeably better than some other agencies we have used.

I have rented several homes in OBX but this is far and away my favorite. It has a magic I haven't felt at other rental homes. There's so much light and it has a fantastic view of the ocean from the top level. Access to the beach is right by the house and there are decks off the kitchen as well as the master bedroom. Unless I want to stay on Hatteras Island, I will always stay in Dolphin Destination!

We loved the place and will try again in 2023 (we vacate with our kids and grandkids every other year). We have stayed in the OBX 3 other times, but this trip was certainly our best! Great job and thanks for the clear and easy text communications as we came into town. We hope to stay with you again!

This house is in a perfect location with great views of the ocean. Having two bedrooms on the main floor was a plus.

We had a fantastic stay at Dolphin Destination! House was better than in the pictures. It was very clean and well furnished. Wonderful views of the ocean from the large windows and multiple decks. The house is just steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. We would highly recommend this rental and Beach Realty.

Though we visited Dolphin Destination during the Covid situation, we enjoyed our stay very much. We rented this home the two previous years as well, and have always found it to be clean and very well maintained. The thought and consideration that the owners have put into the decor and comforts for their guests is excellent and very much appreciated. It's location right on the beach is ideal.

We had such a relaxing vacation ! We were able to see the sunrise from the deck, and our dog was able to be with us which was great . Enough space for everyone to get some away time too. Thank you for sharing your home with us !

We love this property! This is the second year we have stayed and can’t wait to come back next year! The owners make it feel like home and it’s not over the top fancy but that is why we like it. We had one issue that they addressed right away the downstairs air conditioning wasn’t working. They came that same day and the owners were on top of it as they had to order a new unit but Beach Realty called us to keep us updated and made sure we stayed cool and got us some window units which worked wonderfully! I also wanted to give a shout out to how fast they addressed this and checked on us throughout our stay! Can’t wait for next year!

Dolphin Destination is a very relaxing home with expansive views of the Atlantic. We enjoyed morning walks and dolphin sightings daily. The home is situated on a quiet cut-de-sac in a Corolla residential community. We will be back.

It was relaxing, fun, and so nice to have a nice place to stay.

This place was great, close to the beach, dog friendly, had everything we needed. There were 8 of us plus a Baby, we had plenty of room.
We go every year and always have fun.

We had wonderful weather and such fun on the beach. It was good to bring our dog. Our family enjoyed the home and the view of the beach and sunrises.

Our family had stayed at the Dolphin Destination in 2010, we rented the DD one because it was on the beach, two it allowed pets and three it would accomodate our family and friends. So last year my husband and I decided to give a beach vacation to my grown children and there families as a Christmas gift my one wish was to go back to the Dolphin Destination. Oh I forgot to mention that my oldest son loved the DD so much that he decided to get married in the OBX in 2016 and the DD was already booked. We had to stay in another house and it was a huge let down. So knowing that the DD books up fast I contacted Beach Realty and booked it. We got excited when we could log into an app showing up the house and activities provided by Beach Realty. We took advantage of getting a family portrait on the beach which has been a dream of mine. Brooke Mayo and Candace did a great job!!! The floors, kitchen and sliding doors had all been updated. the furniture is still comfy and bed were great!! One update that would be good would be to have better outside furniture. The plastic chairs and recliners have seen better days. Overall this is my families favorite place in the OBX!!! Worth the wait!!

The house was perfect for our family to enjoy Thanksgiving week! The kitchen was very well stocked and the huge kitchen counter was wonderful to prepare our Thanksgiving feast! The decks were wonderful and a great view of the ocean. Great vacations house!

Great location for beach access. Since it was an October rental, the beach was quiet which was perfect for a week of R & R. The house was well equipped for cooking, very clean and nicely furnished.

Really relaxing. Casual. Perfect house.

Expansive views, light and airy. Loved having bedrooms on same top level with living/dining area. Kitchen was well-equipped, even had sharp knives. (Only thing missing was a broiler pan). Master bedroom was great. Very comfortable bed and sunrise views from private deck were gorgeous. Location next to the public access walkway was not so great. One person let her dog come up to our top deck uninvited to meet our dogs. Otherwise, it was okay.

The house was spacious, equipped with everything needed, has a great view of the ocean from the top floor, the sliding door in the kitchen would not lock properly so we had to put a baby gate to secure it, the walk to the beach was short and while we were there, the AC broke. We contacted the realty company and it was fixed within a couple of hours.
The only real issue is that the WiFi was not secured so we did not use it.

Saw every kind of weather hot warm cool windy calm but home and location are perfect.

This is a beautiful home and great location at the Outer Banks. And we were able to see dolphins as well. We will definitely go back.

2015 was our second visit and we've rebooked already for next season. Our family is very happy with Dolphin Destination. We travel with 6 adults and 1 large dog...there is plenty of space for all to spread out. The experience of oceanfront living room and deck is wonderful--we spend a lot of time on the beach, but it's also great just to hang around at the house to watch the water. This is a very quiet section of Ocean Sands, even more so than others, so fewer lights at night = good stargazing. See you next summer!

Our family enjoyed our stay. The location and views are excellent. The house had everything we needed. I would however suggest that they leave a few cleaning items such as Windex and Lysol so we can keep the place sparkling. I was concerned with the stairs in the front of the house. It is a wooden spiral like staircase which was tricky and the railing was low and I was concerned someone could fall over it. Also the deck stairs in the back of the house going up to the top deck was shaky. We had a problem with midges for 3 of the nights we stayed there and could not use the decks or grill. There were thousands of them. The screen doors were covered. I don't think this problem was one that was exclusive to this house. I think everyone was having this problem. Once there was a thunderstorm and the winds changed the bugs left. Also there is no private walkway to the beach. There is a private walkway leading to the public access to the beach. Over all it was a great stay.

Best trip ever! The Dolphin Destination is a beautiful house right off the beach. Beautiful views throughout the entire house. Kitchen has everything a chef can ask for. We are every meal at the house no need to go out. The carpets were a little worn would have preferred hardwood. No pool but did not need one with a baby in the house. Had high chair, gate, and packin play for the baby. Hot tub was used once. The beach was absolutely gorgeous. The family reunion of 75 people for the week included both Ocean Sands b and c developments so we were all close. Will definitely recommend the property

Excellent accommodations, great food, and the ocean a short walk away! We were greeted in the mornings by a pod of Dolphins and amused by the acrobats of pelican squadrons. Delightful and in the perfect location! Thank you.
