Bear Inn Corolla
This is our 4th time staying at Bear Inn. We love it here. The place was exceptionally clean upon arrival. The kitchen is the best equipped kitchen of any place I have ever stayed. There is no need to bring beach chairs as they have plenty of nice chairs. Beds are comfortable. The house was very comfortable for our family of 8. We had a brief time without water and the “Water Man” contractor was immediately at our house to repair the pump. I would highly recommend staying at Bear Inn!

A pure gem
This was our second time staying at Bear Inn. I was worried things might have changed with the new owners, but to our surprise everything was just how we remembered it, if not better. I was disappointed to see the same old gas grill and no longer see the charcoal grill. Last we cooked over charcoal because the gas grill would not cook our food. This year I removed the flame guards and cooked directly over the flames and had no problem until the last day when I went to change out the propane tank and realized that both tanks were empty. Would I recommend this place to anybody? No, I would love to keep this place as a secret gem and we all ready have our 2024 stay booked. See you next year!!

Amazing house

This rental did not disappoint. The house is amazing and is everything as described in the listing. I would book it again if I ever go back to OBX. The 4x4 beach area is less crowded than the other beaches. Definitely a five star rating!!!!

“Just OK”
“The difference between something good and something great is attention to detail.” For a 35 year old home, Bear Inn is good but needs some “attention to detail”. Overall we enjoyed our two week stay but we arrived to find the ice maker not working and several light bulbs missing. At dusk we discovered the gazebo lights and the carport lights were out as well (very dark on the street side for walking dogs). The “legs” of several pieces of furniture were about to fall off which could potentially cause injury to guests. All of these issues were reported to Beach Realty. On the positive side, there is a great gas grill (advertised as charcoal) and the beds were super comfy. We did see the wild horses on several occasions which is always delightful. As an FYI for those who love to cook, bring knives and skillets - all of the knives were dull and the skillets scratched and warped (due to pass guests’ disregard for property - I purchased some cheap non-stick skillets and left them in the house). We would not choose to rent this property again but it is still a good property.

Many of the things you noted in your review were also on our list and more (knives, skillets (thank you very much for your contribution), sheets, bedding, throw pillows, sleeping pillows, carpets, etc). Unfortunately, due to rental bookings scheduled prior to our ownership, we were unable to gain access to our new home again until mid October when we closed for the season.
We’ve spent the last few weeks at Bear Inn OBX emptying the house and going over every single piece of furniture, sheets, bedding, silverware, cleaning every corner, replacing every light bulb (even the cooktop hood lights) and we’re still making more lists. Our projects will continue until next rental season to assure the highest quality experience that we can provide for our guests.
Unfortunately, some of the items you noted (under house lighting, gazebo lighting, furniture repair, etc) required a contractor’s touch, which can be difficult to schedule during the rental season. That said, we’ve fixed just about everything on our list, including the lighting you noted both beneath the house and to the gazebo. We’re so sorry that our home didn’t live up to your expectations, but we’re confident that your experience will be better next year if you choose to book with us again.

Absolutely loved this vacation spot. The house is perfectly set up and stocked. The gazebo was a favorite spot for meals and sunrises. There were horses all around us and came in our yard on our last day. This is a vacation that my granddaughter will remember for a lifetime. Our home away from home
We have stayed in this home multiple times and it’s definitely our favorite! It is perfect for us. We enjoy the homes layout and the walkway to the beach. Kitchen is well stocked. Beds super comfy. Horses normally daily however this visit with the new build next door, not so much. We will be returning again to our home away from home!

Beautiful Beachfront Rental
We had an amazing time at the Bear Inn. The house was very cleaned and pretty well stocked. The grill was a little wonky, and we had a bit of a problem grilling meals, but otherwise everything was great! We saw the wild horses and spent every day on the beach! A wonderful vacation and we definitely hope to come back.

Bear Inn Carova Beach
Love this little place. Cozy and clean and sits right on the beach. Comfortable for four to six adults and dog friendly. The walkway and gazebo are a special treat. Spend some time on the gazebo on your first night, in order to get physically, mentally and emotionally oriented for your stay.

A family 1st at OBX
Great memories were made at Bear Inn! Saw lots of wild horses, dolphins, and a rainbow. Great location. Only complaint was dog hairs on pillows, beds, bedding, furniture and trundles required that we sweep the entire home upon arrival. Had to do some bedding laundry too when we arrived due to dog hairs.

Amazing stay!

Repeat Offenders!
Third time at Bear Inn! We love this home! Already booked again for next October! Was sad when we thought you had stopped renting it and then found it with Beach Realty. It is perfect for us and our four legged child. Love the walkway to the beach. Kitchen is perfectly stocked. Bedrooms are beautifully designed and comfortable! Wouldn’t change or recommend a thing! We love this cottage. Our second time staying in Bear Inn. The house is so well stocked, the owners have thought of ever thing. The home was and has always been extremely clean. There was a slight issue this stay with the bottom step of the boardwalk where the last step was missing. Caused some difficultly stepping down and nails were exposed. Other than that everything was perfect.

Beautiful home and location
Wow! what a beautiful home and location! The home was very clean and was everything it was advertised to be. Our favorite spot was the gazebo. We stayed out there almost everyday watching the ocean and the horses. The nighttime was beautiful with all the stars in the sky. We have been staying in the Carova Beach area for several years and I have to say this home is our favorite place!

October 2020 Stay
We love this cottage. Our second time staying in Bear Inn. The house is so well stocked, the owners have thought of ever thing. The home was and has always been extremely clean. There was a slight issue this stay with the bottom step of the boardwalk where the last step was missing. Caused some difficultly stepping down and nails were exposed. Other than that everything was perfect.

Beautiful house rental
This was our first time to the Outer Banks, would return in a heartbeat. This house was in a perfect area, would refer to anyone! Plan on returning again in the future!

Bear Inn - great spot
Great job on the remodel. Very cozy and the beach access is perfect. We will return. Thank you for stocking the kitchen with all needed utensils and cookware. Only downside was limited storage in the bathroom for our personal items. But easy to work around.
