Arcadia in Duck
House is in a nice small community. Close to beach access which has a lifeguard. The house is small, perfect for one family. Beds are not the most comfortable. Upper level is a great open space and really enjoyed the upper deck. The deck railings need some TLC. Pool is great.

Great week!
The house is in a great neighborhood with easy access to the beach. It was clean and comfortable for my family. The pool is great too. Its in the shade after 3pm which was enjoyable after baking on the beach all morning. We did have a few maintenance issues, but most were addressed day one and 2 by very friendly and polite maintenance men. The only annoying thing that couldn't be fixed during our stay was the sliding door upstairs was broken and incredibly hard to move. I hope owners upgrade the door soon, because the house is so nice. Overall we had a great week and will probably be back to this house.

TV in twin bed room not working,chain on wooden rocker needs replacing all rusted and very sharp on the hands.
And it would help to keep the electric cost down if the slider screens were replaced conld not leave sliders open in the morning and night when cooler.

Cozy Beach Rental
The Arcadia is a great house for small to medium sized groups. Just a few steps from the beach and tucked away in a private neighborhood. The AC works great! Really enjoyed the deck space and size of the pool. The interior of the house is updated and was clean upon arrival. Our only gripe was the landscape was overgrown around the pool area and driveway.

Our Return to Place
Arcadia is the perfect house for a family with a pet and grandparents. Views of ocean from second level, easy walk to newly extended beach that has life guards, amazing pool for non beachers, plenty of parking area, stairs very manageable, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, dining area seats 6-8 easily, AC perfect, ceiling fans-in other words what more do you need? This was our third August and we are in for every year we can make it to return to Arcadia.

Nice and Simple
Stayed at Arcadia the week of June 3rd 2017. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The pool was great. Only negative was the bike had flat tires and most of the beach chairs were beat up. Nice little home next to the beach.

Arcadia was a great place to stay. The house was clean upon arrival - and it has clearly been remodeled recently.
Stayed here with 4 adults and a 2 year old. Plenty of room for us, but suspect that the house would get pretty tight on space if all of the beds were filled. Also, worth noting that the "master" bathroom is actually a jack & jill with the room with two twin beds.
Location was great - can see the beach from the upper balcony. Loved being just outside of Duck - close to shopping and restaurants.
Overall, highly recommended.

Great location near Duck, NC
Pros: 1. Upstairs kitchen/living space/deck completely renovated. 2. Only 50 yards or so from beach access. 3. Pet friendly. 4. Convenient to both Duck and Corolla.
Cons: 1. Downstairs needs some renovating, particularly the beds/bedrooms, which lacked proper clothes storage/dressers. 2. Upstairs windows were absolutely disgusting & covered w/hundreds of dead bugs when we arrived. I spent an hour cleaning them. 3. Sliding glass doors on SE/NE bedrooms leaked during heavy storm. 4. Lots of DVDs/DVD player but no cords to hook them to TV.

30 years ago this was the style cottage a family enjoyed for a week in Duck. New owners have added a pool that is perfect, safety deck railings, soothing colors and comfortable furnishings. Great for a family and grandparents with 2 front queen bed rooms opening onto deck that one can view the ocean horizon. short walk to the uncrowded beach on a safe cul-de-sac. We return and return and one week is not enough .

Relaxing By The Beach
This home was close to the beach with ocean views. It was clean and comfortable. We wanted to make fun frozen cocktails and the blender didn't work. We called the rental company and they had one delivered to us in just a few hours. They even called us the first day to see if we needed anything. Kudos to Beach Realty/Kitty Hawk Rentals for outstanding service! The neighborhood was quiet and private. The beach is beautiful and only a few steps away. We had a wonderful family vacation.

We would suggest the DVD players be hooked up prior to stay. We had small children and the weather was not ideal so it would have been nice to be able to put a movie on for them without all the guess work. The TV in the bunkbed room was not working properly and thats where the kids were. Other than that the property was nice and had plenty of room for our family. The location to the beach was perfect and having the option of the pool was very nice.

Duck Vacation
Overall decent value for the location, time of year and being pet friendly.
Pros- Great location! Short walk to the beach and the kids loved the pool. The bathrooms and the kitchen are very nice, updated.
Cons- Disappointed to see plaster hanging down from sky light over the dining room table. The sliding glass door to the deck was extremely difficult to operate. The deck furniture was run down and the table wasn't sturdy. The ceiling fan lights in 2 of the bedrooms didn't work. Outside shower could use a good pressure washing.

From the owner: Our apologies. Thanks for the comments! The deck furniture is being replaced during the off season and the ceiling issue was addressed (leaky skylight). Ceiling fans are working and we will pressure wash the shower and fix the door during the off season as well.

Great Location, Nice updates but......
The proximity to the beach was perfect as was the pool. The updates they have done are very nice but there were flying ants in the bedroom with the twin beds. They were all over the window frame and all in the bedding. It took two days and me going to the office before the issue was addressed. The kids could not sleep in the room because of the bugs, we had to remove the bedding, clean up the dead bugs after they were sprayed, and replace the bedding. The staff didn't seem to take our concern as serious as we did and there was no sense of urgency to remedy the situation. That was the only bad experience we had and really did love the property. Just wish they would have acted sooner and we didn't have to waste vacation time seeking them out to fix the issue.

From the owner: Our apologies for the ants. We are under an annual pest contract now which should prevent this problem in the future. We will leave contact information for that company at the house so our guests can call directly if need be.
