The Vineyard Voyage departs the quaint Outer Banks community of Duck and crosses scenic Currituck Sound by boat to Sanctuary Vineyards. Upon arrival at a historic hunting lodge boathouse you begin the overland part of the voyage in an open-air 4×4 safari truck.
Sanctuary Vineyards is located in an area rich in waterfowl heritage and farming which dates back to the 1800s. You’ll travel through the marsh and cross agriculture fields to reach the 33 acres of viniferous grapes.
Once you arrive at the vineyard, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes tour of the winery and receive a private wine tasting. Learn the vine-to-glass process, smell the French oak barrels, and meet the master winemakers behind this intriguing process. Sanctuary Vineyards produces over 7,000 cases of wine seasonally and has won over 100 accolades for their award-winning wines. Make reservations early; this tour sells out frequently!
