The growing number of Tesla’s, Bolts, and other electronic vehicles are a welcome sight amongst the thousands of travelers that grace our barrier island roadways each season. These days, drivers can easily charge up at a number of public stations throughout the Northern Outer Banks and some of our vacation homes now also offer charging stations. Just look for the EV Charging Station amenity under Additional Amenities on the properties detail page, or keep reading!
If your vacation home does not offer a charging station, not to worry! There are several spots where you can hook up when out and about.
You will find stations in Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, and Manteo. Check out the Plug Share website for information and directions.
Hungry? Stop in at the famous Outer Banks Brewing Station known not only for their award-winning entertainment, beer, and grub, but as the first wind-powered brewery in the United States! Just look for the giant wind turbine... you can't miss it!
Need groceries? Grab your essentials and charge up at Harris Teeter in Kill Devil Hills where you will find an eight-stall Supercharger.
Ready to shop? About 10 minutes further south, the Nags Head Outlets also provide a charging station. If you are adventuring further north, Duck's Waterfront Shoppes offers four stations for your convenience as you shop along the Currituck Sound!
If you are looking to book a vacation home and would like the convenience of being able to charge from your own driveway, you can easily find them from our main site menu, under Vacation Rentals > Rental Amenity, or simply click the button below!
