With a very grateful heart, I would give this to one of the most amazing and inspirational individuals I know – Carol B. I met Carol one day while my husband was fighting for his life from his injuries from Iraq in the ER. Carol was the only one who reached out and helped us. She stayed at the hospital, was there after every surgery (there were 14 surgeries total) and helped us every step of the way. Her incredible heart and passion for our fallen heroes and wounded warriors surpasses any other individual I have met. She has saved literally hundreds of our military heroes lives by getting them the medical care and assistance they need. Day or night. 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. Regardless. She is comparable to the Mother Teresa of our military. I am both honored and forever grateful for all she has done for my family – especially when she didn’t have to and when no one else cared. I know she loves the Outer Banks and I know she sure could use a little piece of Heaven to recharge. While I could never in a million years repay her for her kindness and compassion, I sure can hopefully honor her and her amazing work by proudly nominating her for this contest. Knowing Carol, she is going to be embarrassed she is even in the spot light. But that’s the incredible part of life – those with the greatest love spread the greatest light.
