These games just might bring back some fun childhood memories:
Flashlight Tag: (check the Welcome Bag and you will find a Beach Realty flashlight we included so our guests can use while ghost crab hunting at night! You can hit the Dollar Tree if you need more. We have several on the island.) This is a fun game kids can enjoy indoors and out!
Round Robin: Keep those flashlights handy and gather the whole family together and take turns creating a unique Outer Banks ghost story. Check out these Tales of Local Lore and add your own twist! Have one person read one of these tales, and then go around the circle taking turns passing along the next plot twist by adding "and thennnnn..." to the person seated next to them.

Jumpmasters Trampoline Park
Located in Manteo, Jumpmasters is the Outer Banks' first trampoline park! Take the kids for a jump, play dodgeball, climb the rock wall or have a jousting tournament! New in 2019, Jumpmasters added an awesome Axe Throwing area where you can release some steam and test your skills!
The Aquarium in Manteo
The aquarium in Manteo is a great education experience for kids. It's open year-round. Learn about the Outer Banks, and stay out of the rain!
Turf's Up OBX
Play simulated sports and games with hundreds of options when you rent a bay at Turf's Up. Turf's Up also offers a unique Virtual Reality experience which is out of this world! For the spectators, Turf's Up has a snack and beverage bar, which does include adult beverages.
Bowling
If you want to stay inside, chill at the bowling alley! They have food and drinks, and it's a great activity for a big group of people. Plus there's an arcade on site for the kids. A great way to ride out the rain! Check out OBX Bowling in Nags Head.
Go See a Movie
Who doesn't love to go to the theater! Go see a movie and enjoy some popcorn while the weather clears up. The Outer Banks has two movie theathres, on in Kill Devil Hills and another in Manteo.
Many of our homes offer game rooms and some include some pretty impressive home theaters.
OB-Xscape Rooms
Solve mysteries together at OB-Xcape Rooms! You have to find the clues to get out!
Laser Tag
If you have never tried laser tag, you should try it here! It's so fun, and great for the whole family to participate.
Flippers Arcade
This arcade in Grandy is 20 minutes from the beach, and super fun! Play pinball, and other classic games to win prizes! A locals fave for hours of fun!
Outlets in Nags Head
While the Outer Banks doesn't have an indoor mall, the Outlets in Nags Head have a covered walkway connecting a large variety of stores, as well as food options. Perfect for a rainy day!
Wright Brothers Memorial
The Wright Brother's Memorial includes an indoor museum with plenty of historical artifacts and also a replica of the Wright Brother's 1903 glider.
While we sincerely hope that the weather will be perfect during your visit to the Outer Banks, we feel like it's always beautiful and always fun regardless of the weather. Even with perfectly sunny weather, you'll need to take a break from all that fun in the sun! And remember, it only takes a little bit of rain to make a rainbow! So keep your eyes peeled!
