As we were aware, this property is and older one. It was fine. If you are looking for the brand-new look, this is not for you. I think the property was great and shows the true life of the Outer Banks! The property showed age, just like us. This place was great and the memories were priceless! We will be back!

Overall this property was good value for the price paid. Pros were location, amazing views, good space, inside was clean, and the elevator and no threshold shower were lifesavers for my mobility challenged mom. Beds were pretty comfy as well - you never know what you will get in terms of a mattress in rentals but these were good. Cons: Outside of the house was a mess with toys, broken boogie boards and rusted deck chairs. I ended up trying to stack everything I could under the house neatly, but left the rusty deck chairs where they were in fear of needing a tetanus shot. Other cons were the house in general needs maintenance on a lot of small things. One burner in the kitchen was out, some wall outlets did not work, medicine cabinet in upstairs bathroom did not close properly, windows rusted shut, etc. All of these are small things and something to consider if these things will bother you. We enjoyed our stay overall and do not regret renting the property.

Location was wonderful!!!
Definitely needs a facelift on decor.
Cleaning left a lot to be desired.
Spider eggs on side of the bedroom door frame, mold on the shower curtains, stove burners were black/burnt (every time we used the stove, it smelled like something was burning), feet were black within a few minutes of arrival and walking around upstairs.
Some wood on the balcony steps was coming up too.
Overall a good place and would stay again, but I highly suggest the cleaning be investigated or a new company take this part over.
Also, worked out great for a family member who is in a wheelchair!!

Tiger Inn - First week in July 2023
Place is well stocked with kitchenware, had everything we needed,including sharp knives (which is a problem in some places). Bonus was a crib and two high chairs (one of the reasons we chose this place). Somewhat outdated, but it sad clean and there is lots of seating. Two decks are nice. Only thing missing was a walkway to the beach, so we ended up leaving most of our best out just before going down the dunes. Good fit for our 9 family members. Dog friendly.

Awesome beach house!
We had a great time at the Flying Tiger Inn. The elevator was an added bonus. The weather wasn't great but the ocean views were! Everything was clean and ready for us. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Stay at Flying Tiger Inn
It was wonderful! The beach is easily accessible and you can see it from the top floor. My wife has had a knee replacement and the elevator was a big help for her as stairs are difficult to manage. It was comfsortable and well appointed.

Having stayed here before, we rented it for my wife's 55th birthday and invited friends down. Plenty of room, good view, and uncrowded beach made it wonderful. If our niece had not sat on the coffee table and broken the glass top, everything would be perfect. On the sad side, my brother passed away while we were there, but what a location to absorb the blow. Flying Tiger is 100 yards or so from where we played on the beach together for a month every year as kids (mother's family from Manteo, so not strangers to Nags Head). We would play in the dunes where this cottage is located.
p.s. The rent when we were kids down the street was $100 for the whole month with 5 bedrooms!

Handicapped Accessible?
The elevator was a lifesaver, however, for someone in a wheelchair, there were a couple of places that were still difficult to maneuver. Getting in the elevator from the garage, the incline was too steep. There was no way to get out onto the deck on the second floor. The threshold was just too high. There was absolutely no handicapped beach access from the house, even with a beach wheelchair. The hill was too steep. The house itself was perfect.

Cleaning of bathrooms, kitchen was great. However, there was still a lot of sand on the floors and on the furniture. Suggest that owner supplies a dustpan so renters can sweep during the week. We swept several times but has to improvise on collecting sand as there was no dustpan. Location was great. We could see the waves breaking from both levels!

fantastic view!
Perfect place to go to relax and see/listen to the waves right from the house. Only complaint was that proper instructions for operating the elevator were not given until AFTER the elevator malfunctioned. It also took longer than hoped to have it fixed (largely due to it being a Sunday/holiday).

My review of the Flying Tiger Inn
We enjoyed the property and especially the oceanfront location very much. Many thanks to maintenance who came and helped us when we locked ourselves out!

Best place we've stayed at OBX!
The property had everything we needed to accommodate the needs of 3 generations of our family. Having the elevator was a godsend. Overall the accommodations were very good. We had some problem adjusting the inside temperature to a comfortable level--there were hot spots and very cold spots. The outside doors on the ocean side were hard for the older guests to open (swollen from moisture maybe?). Other than this, everything was great. Couldn't ask for a more convenient location, and there was ample parking for our 4 vehicles. We would definitely stay here again.

A great time right on the beach. A great combination of features, low traffic, close to amenities, not too dense, and a great beach.

Flying Tiger Inn is a Flying Success!
Wonderful location on the ocean. Improved beach access over walkway over the dune. Love the elevator! Lots of room for family to enjoy.
