October at Gypsea Rose
Though dated and with a small kitchen, Grysea Rose is exceedingly comfortable. The location is perfect- this is our third weekly rental. Off season, we prefer to open the windows: the dining room windows really need replacing, as they are hard to raise and sometimes lower on their own(!). We called about the microwave malfunctioning but this was not addressed. Unsure if we will rent again, there are houses that appear in better condition for the same$.

Gypsea fun Morris family!
This is second time we stayed at this property -love the location and house is perfect for our family... love the seclusion and fun game room downstairs!! Our only concern was light in dining room does not turn off -do not remember that from last year-may want to check electric to it!

Old style feel
I love being in an unpretentious, old style beach house. We 7( 4 children under 11) have enjoyed staying in Gypsea Rose for the past 4 years- this year for 2 weeks. The kitchen is not for a cook- limited space but doable. The owners have been good about updating some things each year. We love how accessible the beach is.

Back for a second week
This old cottage is actually very comfy and we love the street. There were recent updates- new carpet in the living area, new firepit. I hope the windows in the dining room are next on the list.

Amazing location and ocean access!
We loved this oceanfront home. So comfortable and beachy. The sunrises are gorgeous, the beds comfortable. Lots of books and comfy seating. The hot tub is amazing. The location felt central.
We did trip a fuse but within a half hour of notifying the rental company, someone was there to fix it. The fuse box is hidden behind the flag hanging in the game room, in case you need to know! We also asked for the hot tub to be cleaned, and again, someone was there within the hour and took care of it.

Wonderful Beach House
We had a great time at Gypsea Rose! The on line photos & descriptions are accurate. The house is spacious & comfortable. It was very clean. The beds were very comfy, as was the furniture. If you like to read, bring reading lights with you. The oceanfront location was fabulous. We enjoyed the deck. One downside: We couldn't use the jetted soaker tub in the upstairs bedroom; there wasn't enough hot water to fill the tub & cover the jets. Therefore the jets couldn't be turned on. We had a wonderful time in this house. The location is great, close to everything and the oceanfront is OCEANFRONT!
The beach is right off the porch and the view from the deck and inside the house is fabulous. And it was great we could bring our dogs with us. House has an interesting layout, is well maintained and we had no complaints. There are plenty of books and games to occupy non-beach time.

Overall good. Excellent proximity to ocean, shops and restaurants. Would rent again. Needed- upgrade bathrooms, uncover steps to beach. Deep sand going to ocean was hard to manage for us old folks. We used the public access. No staples in kitchen. Other properties have had spices, salt,pepper. No instructions for use of tv. Fans and ac were hard to figure out. No electricity in the sun room. Alarm went off from uk origin.

Comfortable Vacation
Comfortable oceanfront home that allows pets, a big plus for us. The home was clean, not fancy with multiple levels and bedrooms. The only drawback were the decks as small children and dogs would be able to fit through the railings and areas where there were no barriers offering a escape route. This is the only reason we would not rent this home again.
We prefer "flat top" homes as we like the simplicity, but they are becoming more difficult to find.

Great house and location
We enjoyed our week at this home, it was our first experience at a North Carolina beach. The house is large and very comfortable. It was also a great space for our dog.

Gypsae Rose Family Fun #6
Our family had another wonderful reunion and beach experience at Gypsae Rose this year! The house was clean as usual and we had a nice variety of weather to enjoy, including cool enough on two days to use the outdoor hot tub. Management had replaced a worn deck/patio door with a new door that worked very well. Very happy with all aspects of the house and management.

Great Stay
Old School rental that surpassed our expectations. 7 of us stayed 1 week right on the beach and had a blast. close to everything you might need. if we stay again, it will be "gypsea rose."

Gypsea Rose: A Pleasant rental in Sumer and Fall
We rented Gypsea Rose house in Southern Shores Outer Banks NC In June and in September and found it very pleasant. It is an old house compared to the many houses along the beach but it serviceable, comfortable and provided a very nice rental for the family. The hot tub was convenient and clean, and in good working shape and the older children loved it. The walk to the beach is short and accessible. Vintage property oozing with charm. Close beachfront location cannot be beat. Well air-conditioned and reasonably clean. Nonfunctional in-kitchen microwave, however working unit provided in adjacent room. Otherwise, all appliances in working order. Cozy and comfortable. We loved our stay and would definitely return.
