It was a perfect place to relax and get married!

We had a great time at Wayfarer's Rest! It was a beautiful beach home right on the ocean and was so convenient with our toddler. The property management people were very prompt in their response and we had a fantastic time!

We were more than pleased with the view. The ocean was literally right out the back door. While the house itself was a bit dated, we didn’t mind! It had everything we needed for a great week. We would certainly rent it again!

2nd time we've stayed here. We love it. What more can we say? Oh, we found the clothes dryer didn't work so we called them,,,,,the next day we had a new dryer. Very satisfied !!

We had a great time......location was perfect ......rental was very clean......the house had every thing we needed.....there have been some reviews about the mattresses being too hard( they were firm but we thought they were fine with ample support).....overall could not ask for a better experience.....our only negative was that the inside shower was too small

Very quiet, loved the view

Good experience. Property in good condition and clean. Toilet in main bathroom did not work properly and had been reported on previous reviews. Living room furniture dirty and needs to be replaced. Ocean view partially blocked by dunes, but still beautiful.

The week stay at this house was very lovely and such a great getaway. It was a wonderful experience and we would come back again.

You couldn't get any closer to the beach. There was a dune in front of the house partially blocking the views though. The TV viewing wasn't so great. Streaming instead of cable so no local channels & the TV would freeze or completely turn off at times. We spent a day in Manteo. Went to The Christmas Shop, browsed some little stores, ate ice cream at Big Bucks (yummy!) & finished the day with a sunset cruise on the Crystal Dawn. Would recommend Miller's, Tale of the Whale & Jolly Rogers restaurants, also American Pie for pizza & ice cream.

My family group of 4 adults and a child just returned home after a lovely week's stay at Wayfarer's Rest. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The number one reason to recommend this cottage is its IDEAL waterfront location in Kitty Hawk, a short, sandy walk over a little dune to an almost private-feeling beach spot. Visitors will absolutely love the covered porch with perfect beach views! Everyone drank coffee or watched the dolphins at sunrise from that porch. Our weather, minus one even of thunderstorms, was perfect all week. The property was accurately described by Beach Realty and in prior visitors' reviews. We knew there was no dishwasher, so we brought plenty of paper plates and cups. The shower was extremely tight for all of us, my 6'8" husband couldn't fit inside, so we made use of the enclosed outdoor shower. The only warning we'd give to folks is to bring earplugs to wear on the nights when trash is collected at 3:30 am, as the bedrooms face the street. The wifi worked well for our phones and devices, but was too slow to allow streaming or t.v. When notified, Beach Realty reached out quickly. We ended up not watching t.v. anyway because every day was spent on the beach or at nearby attractions, such as Avalon Pier for fishing, or our favorite casual dinner spots, like Awful Arthur's. Everything visitors need is nearby and the Beach Realty app helped make check-in and our check-out easy.

We have stayed three years now and love this house! The views from the porch are amazing and the easy walk to the beach make it ideal! Also located near so many yummy places to eat! Can’t wait to come back again next year!

Property description is accurate for amenities included, private back porch overlooking dune/ocean, no public beach access on either side of house(so quiet beach section, perfect for watching sunrises). We opted to bring our own linens, but owners did provide pillows and lightweight blankets/comforters for each bed, pot holders and a few kitchen towels. Perfect location at MP 3.5, not far from restaurants north/south on "beach road" and "main road", close enough to bike to Wright Memorial, Jockey's Ridge, and a few grocery stores. We did hear traffic (and garbage truck at 3am) from road as the 2 main bedrooms face the street, but would be a lot louder during summer season. Perfect size for 2-4 adults, or max of 6 people if have smaller kids...remember only 1.5 baths and an outdoor shower underneath house. Would be helpful to have a dish basin to put on porch to wash off feet from sand if coming up back steps to porch into house.

The house was in perfect condition and nice and clean. quick response from beach realty on a Sunday to help us get the TV going(Streaming was new to us). We like the gifts left for us on check in day. Loved the porch and view of the ocean AND beach. Did have to adjust to the tiny shower but the outside shower gave us an option. Very nice place to stay.

My wife and her sister and I really enjoyed the house. Just the right size for us. Had all the amenities that we needed without the exuberant cost of a larger home, we will definitely rent this home again next year

Clean, spacious, loved location

Loved the location of this rental. The size was just right for 3 people.

The location is perfect and loved the covered porch to watch the beach even on the rain. Confusion with the check in process and difficulty getting in touch with the property management were a major problem. They were not very responsive. I hope if we go back it will be different!

Cottage was clean and I good condition. So close to the beach, just walk across the dune. Loved the deck view, watching dolphins and surfers.

We stayed at Wayfarer's Rest in mid April 2021. The house was clean and tidy and exceeded our expectations. Everything was in working order. We reported a leaky blender to Beach Realty upon checkout. Not a big deal for a mid April stay but might be an issue during frozen margarita season :) We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others.

This is a cute oceanfront cottage with a throwback vibe. It is very close to the ocean and offers a relaxing stay.

The sunrises were beautiful from the front porch! It was perfect for our little group, close to the beach and very relaxing.
