Decent place you get what you pay for great having a private pool

The place was decent a little outdated but not too bad for the price. When we got there the rooms where cleaned fresh bedding towels etc. The floors were filthy & so were the banisters (we just cleaned ourselves). My biggest complaint was the pool with kids and the beach it was dirty no one came to clean it all week! We called 2x and was told they'd be out mid week to clean- noone ever came. Location was good but everything closes by 9pm, beach was convenient we'd drive and park at the pool.

June 2024 stay at Faraway

Hello, we had a nice time at Faraway! The pool and hot tub were great. There was shade at the pool in the afternoon, which made it nice (less hot). The air conditioning in the house worked very well. The sunroom off the kitchen was a fun space. The house was generally clean, although under the beds and between cushions could use a deeper clean (it may be that the cleaners did not move things around to clean - but the top level and bathrooms were clean). Overall we had a nice time and the rental agency was responsive and helpful.

The house overall was nicely furnished. However, a few things were disappointing. Outside furniture was old, no chaise lounges—only cheap plastic chairs. I always bring my own skillet to rentals. Few of the houses have decent ones. This house also needed more cookware.

Family Beach Vacation

Wonderful family beach vacation, the house was clean and had everything we needed. The gas grill was great as well as the pool and hot tub. The 10 min walk to the beach was manageable. We would drive to the beach walkway and drop off chairs, canopy to make the walk easier.

The rental was very nice with a few exceptions. A door in one of the closets was off the track. One other think I will mention because it was a hazard to me. The bath on the top floor was very slippery. It could use some of the strips yo keep you from slipping. Other than that the place was very nice. It was simple to get to stores and attractions. And was not to far from the beach.

Wonderful home

Great home that suited two families with kids. I appreciate the home being stocked with plates, bowls, utensils, etc. Some updates are needed like the jagged deck boards/bench. The pool hose was always on since the pool level would go down quickly. Nice beds and rooms but would have liked more hooks to hang towels. Quick walk to the beach and the community pool is tons of fun! Central location to shopping and fun adventures in corolla too!

The house was nicely decorated. Good size pool and hot tub. Lots of deck space. Spent a lot of time at screened in patio. A 8 min walk to beach which is fine for older kids and adults- was tiring for four year old. Only complaint was that walkway into lowest level was always dirty due to elements and dirt was easily tracked into home. Owners should look into redoing walkway entrance/ landscaping/ put up curb blockers to reduce debris.

Early summer trip

Our family enjoyed our vacation home very much. The pool, hot tub, and abundance of toys (inside and outside) kept everyone happy. The walk to the beach was just fine even with a stroller with three kids and a beach cart! We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The pool and hot tub were very nice and well cleaned, and we appreciated the provided beach gear (chairs, floaties, etc.) The house is older and some of the appliances were struggling (leaking refrigerator, dishwasher improperly installed), but worked well enough for us. The realty company quickly responded to our maintenance claims (early our first full day there). It is a bit of a hike to the beach, but we knew that going in and it was totally manageable. Our only real complaint was the cleanliness- the blender and coffee maker hadn’t been washed, and we found laundry left from the previous occupants. Especially in the time of Covid, when “deep cleaning” was promised, this was a bit disturbing.
However, all in all, we enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

The house was perfect for the last min booking we did! However the kitchen wasn’t stocked with much so if you plan to cook every meal like us... make sure to bring things with you. The pool was big and hot tub was perfect! The walk to the beach was about 10 mins! We had a wonderful time.

Pleasant Surprise

This was our first trip to Corolla NC and our first time renting a vacation home. We didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. There was an abundance of toys/floats/beach equipment in the pool room. The pool itself was nice and clean. The rooms were a nice size and the amount of kids toys really kept our 4 kiddos entertained. The only downfall was the hike to the beach. It was quite the hike and unfortunately wore out some of our family members. The house was pretty outdated in its fixtures and decor but it suited its purpose just fine. I would recommend spraying for spiders. There was alot of them and a few were spotted inside the house and a little to close to where we slept.

This house was Great. We loved the pool! Wish it was closer to the beach. Not a new house but very nice. Could use a few more kitchen items. Pool was dirty when we arrived and lights didnt work. It did take them 3 days to clean the pool and 5 days to fix the lights (after 2 visits). It was nithing major and we will stay here again.

the house was great..just fits what we needed. we had a lot of kids and they enjoy all the dvds and games thay were there. my only problem is..i am not sure if the pool was cleaned often. it looked cleaned but it taste and felt like sea water..salty. we that said, we came home and 3 of the kids are sick and have hand foot mouth virus and 1 adult.

Faraway June 2015

The pool was wonderful & the house very child friendly (lot of toys & games for a variety of ages). The kitchen had plenty of dishes, but there was not a lot of cooking utensils etc. The house had a lot of nice perks, pool & beach toys, chairs & umbrellas, bikes, books & videos. Overall we had a great time.
