- Booking Stats: After searching our website with your arrival and departure dates plus any other search filter criteria, you will see the percentage of properties that have booked for the dates you entered.
- Booking Reminders: Sign up to receive notifications via email at a later date so you don't miss out on booking the Outer Banks vacation home you have your eyes on!
- Availability Notification: Is the home you are viewing currently booked for your time frame? We can let you know if it becomes available due to a cancellation or when the calendar opens up for the following year. You simply select a specific or broad range of dates, and if any availability opens up during that date range, we'll let you know!
- Price Change Alert: Not ready to book? Hoping the price may drop? If you are flexible and willing to wait, give us the amount you are hoping to spend. If the property's rental rate drops below that amount, we will notify you immediately.
- Split Cost Calculator. Many families and their extended family often share in the cost of renting a vacation home. To make it easier to figure out the payment options and cost for each family, you can now "View the split cost," and pricing divided by the number of families, guests, and bedrooms is broken down for you! Two New Outdoor Concert Venues
The two venues, Morris Farm Market, and Roanoke Island Festival Park have actually been around for years. So what's new? Well, Morris Farm Market has recently expanded into their large property located just north of the Outer Banks to include a large outdoor concert area. They have also expanded their outdoor bar and restaurant with more seating and a smaller stage. So if it's outdoor music you are seeking, this is a great place to enjoy it! They sell tickets for bigger acts that draw large crowds on their website.
After the huge turnout for Oliver Anthony, who made his debut on the farm last year in 2023, Morris Farm realized the need to expand their operation. Now you can see big acts, including the Marshall Tucker Band and Craig Morgan to name just a couple. Naturally, the venue is a great place to enjoy country music, because, if you're singing about beers and tractors, then doesn't it make sense for the setting to include both?
The other venue we want to mention here has been around for much longer. But ever since VusicOBX entered the scene, its music promotion business has significantly increased the volume of big-name acts who perform at its venue of choice, Roanoke Island Festival Park. Vusic (music with a view) has brought acts such as The Beach Boys, KC and the Sunshine Band, and Michael Franti. Upcoming shows this year include 311, Sublime, and Jamey Johnson, to name a few.
2024 brings a new wave to the Outer Banks with the rising popularity of e-bikes. These electric bicycles have become a hit among locals and visitors alike, offering a convenient and eco-friendly way to explore the region's scenic routes and charming towns. With their pedal-assist technology, e-bikes make it effortless to navigate the diverse terrain of sandy beaches and quaint villages while enjoying the fresh ocean breeze and stunning coastal views. For those eager to try them out, renting from our partners at Outer Banks E-Bikes is a great way to experience the convenience and fun of these innovative bikes firsthand.
On the culinary scene, there are quite a few establishments that have added to the already top notch array of eateries on our stretch of the Outer Banks. In Corolla, Wild Goose Wine Bar, Oishii Poke and Sushi, Okinawa Sushi & Grill, Firehouse Boil Co. In Duck, two new restaurants have opened in the Scarborough Faire Shopping Village, Bangkok Thai Sushi and Vine & Board for charcuterie. In Southern Shores Aloha Poke & Grill is a wonderful new addition, and a few miles south Kitty Hawk now offers Indian and Nepalese cuisine at Himalaya. Tucked back on Colington Island, the Colington Pizza has now changed owners with a new menu to add to the pizza, as well as outdoor dining, live music, and a new name: Harbor Grill and Pizza. Poke Box opened its second location in Nags Head at Mile Post 14 after the notable success of its original location at Mile Post 10, which is next door to the Möge Tee bubble tea shop, owned by the same husband and wife team.
Another addition to the culinary scene, and a projected up and coming music venue is the new addition The Jolly Roger added to their restaurant. After the Kelley's restaurant closed it's doors, once also a popular indoor music venue, we locals have been hoping for a replacement. Now that the renovation and addition is complete, we are looking forward to more musical talent on the horizon. Not to say we don't enjoy the nighty karaoke scene!
Visitors from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida will now see a familiar face when visiting the town of Kill Devil Hills. The very first Wawa convenience store opened in May of 2024, and the 60-year-old Pennsylvania-based corporation has plans to open 80 new stores across the state in the next decade. Wawa is well known for its wide range of fresh, made-to-order foods, premium coffee, and convenient services, including fuel, and the option to pre-order and pick up food and other convenience items via the mobile app. The new store employs approximately 35 friendly locals and is set to become a favorite stop for both residents and tourists seeking quality, convenience, and a taste of home away from home.
The new Oregon Inlet Fishing Center building, unveiled in April 2024, is a game-changer! Stretching across two floors with nearly 10,000 square feet, it's packed with goodies: a slick retail area stocked with fishing gear, the Sea Chef Dockside Kitchen (where you can dig into delicious bites indoors or out), a handy spot to book charter boats, and a neat museum showcasing Oregon Inlet's history.
And let's not forget about the restaurant—Sea Chef Dockside Kitchen is the new go-to spot for fresh eats right by the water!
Built tough to tackle coastal living, it stands tall at 11 feet above sea level with a metal roof ready for 150-mile-per-hour winds and windows that laugh at impacts.
This place isn't just about fishing—it's about making Oregon Inlet a must-visit for families and adventure seekers alike, all topped off with great food and awesome views!
