September 2024 stay
Upon arrival we were unable to access the keypad, but Beach Realty was quick to save the day!! We loved the number of private bathrooms, the pool, hot tub, and the living area. I’d recommend adding to the coffee pot description what size filters would be needed. Over all we really enjoyed our stay, but wish it was a little cleaner.

Great space for a big group
The house had all the bedrooms, bathrooms, and leisure spaces we needed., and the kitchen was very well equipped. All the well furnished decks were most enjoyable.
The beach is a short walk and groceries and shopping are nearby.

Overall it was very enjoyable. The accommodations were nice. Some details were overlooked (blankets, not needed, were balled up in the closets. Pot holders are filthy. The gas grill was a disaster (all clean now)). Can not sweet the small stuff.

Great family vacation in Summer Winds August 2024
Extended family of 14 had a great vacation the last week of August staying in this beautiful home. Other than some slow-moving drains and normal wear you would expect the last week of the season, the house is exactly as you see it in the pictures. The only problem we had was cooking for a large group because the stove top burners were not working properly - took forever to boil water. There is a similar comment from a prior year so hopefully it will be fixed/replaced. The house is now well stocked with ice cube trays we purchased and left in the freezer since there is no ice maker in the house. We have vacationed in OBX for years but this year needed an elevator for our mom and we were relieved that it enabled her to move around the house with ease. We are definitely considering renting this house again next year.

Beautiful Beach House with great views!
Beautiful and clean Beach House! 5 minute walk to the beach! Great location to shops, adventure golf, and grocery shopping! Pool, media room, and volleyball court was perfect for my family! Kitchen was well stocked for our families. We like to cook. Bedrooms were great with king size beds and own bathrooms. The only thing we would have wanted was a long dining room table. Our family likes to all eat together. The elevator was great to have for groceries and family members that recently had surgery. Parking was great. I would recommend this house to family and friends and would definitely rent it again. Friendly customer service! Trey and Megan were especially helpful!

Aug 12 week Family Vaca
I was notified that the house was ready at 1:47pm but when we arrived the pass code didn't work. When I called the office I found out the code wouldn't work until 4pm. We found hair and grime in a few bathrooms but they sent cleaners right over to take care of it. The pool area was a mess but that was because the previous renters left it a mess. My daughter had hair in her bed. We had to buy a shower liner because one of the bathrooms had just the material curtain. My daughters shower curtain had some mold on it.We loved the layout of the house. The internet was horrid and no ice machines were working. I see in a previous review the rental Co. replied that the owner were looking into getting a ice nachine. I guess they decided against it. Despite a rough start but our family had a great time in the end.

Great family vacation. Good location to the beach. Very spacious open area for big group. All the bedrooms were very good size. Only negative was with the cleaning service. Property was missing some linens, one room looked like it was not cleaned at all, and overall house could have been cleaner. However with that said property management responded quickly and rectified linen situation and was more than willing to assist.

Beautiful week in the OBX
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Summer Winds. There was plenty of room for our group. There are a few updates that we would recommend: pool deck could use some cleaning as there were prickly weeds growing in the cracks, deck boards on the second level were loose or raised which could be a tripping hazard, some bathtub/shower faucets were leaky, and the wifi was not powerful enough for all the tv's and devices that were going. I would recommend getting a second router. We had one issue with a bed support breaking but it was addressed and fixed quickly. We have been staying in Corolla for over 15 years and this was one of the better homes we have stayed in. The location was great and the overall experience with the rental company was wonderful. The home was ready and cleaned well before the 4 PM check in time which was great.

Would have been perfect if only the stove worked!
The main problem we had with this property was that the stove worked VERY POORLY. Took over an hour to boil water. Needed to allow over two hours to prepare dinner as only one of the gas burners provided much heat. We called about this issue early in our stay and then again after several days. A maintenance person was sent out only to inform us that he did not repair appliances. No further action taken by rental company. Also, the ice maker in the kitchen freezer did not work, requiring us to buy ice from the store which then melted slightly on way home and froze in a block. Again, we reported this issue to the rental company but were informed by maintenance that they did not work on appliances.(A recurring theme!) We did buy some ice trays to make some ice, but this could not keep up with the demand. This is a large and beautiful beach house which is made for many visitors - unfortunately, it was difficult to feed those visitors in a timely manner!

Freezer ice-makers certainly don't make ice as fast as a separate ice-maker machine, and I am happy to let you and future guests know that the owners are looking into the feasibility of installing an ice-maker this off-season. We are going to have our cleaning crew take a close look at those stove burners to make sure they are clean and will work properly again. Fantastic House

A great family vacation
Beach Realty and Summer Winds met all of our expectations.
The house was clean, in good condition(for a rental) and in a
very convenient location. This was our third family vacation

Family Time
My sisters and I rented Summer Winds so our families could spend some quality time with our father. The house was perfect for this. The house had spacious and appropriately furnished gathering areas and there was plenty to do. All of the advertised amenities were there and working and we used them! The kitchen was great and we were easily able to prepare and serve dinner for 17. The house was a conveniently walkable distance to the beach.
It was our first vacation in Corolla. We found a lot of fun things to do and some good places to eat out. We also want to thank the Corolla life guards and EMT’s who were amazingly helpful and kind when our Dad had a slight medical issue while at the beach.
I chose 4 stars for maintenance and cleaning due to a few minor annoyances in that area. The house was truly beautiful, but as August renters we could see some signs of the wear and tear of the rental season.
It was our first vacation in Corolla. We found a lot of fun things to do and some good places to eat out. We also want to thank the Corolla life guards and EMT’s who were amazingly helpful and kind when our Dad had a slight medical issue while at the beach.

Great house and layout, was not clean by our standards, gas stove cooked rather slowly, lots of activities, we used the volleyball court several times a day. Microwave in kitchen didn't work but they had a small temporary one available. Very spacious and beautifully decorated

This is a great home in a great location. This was our first visit to Corolla and we love the area. It is quiet and beautiful but close enough to shopping, dining, etc. The only negatives were blankets that were rolled up in a ball on a shelf in the master suite so we assumed they were dirty. There are several doors leading to the exterior decks that would not lock.

Perfect house for our vacation
Summer Winds had everything we need for our group. We had 15 people (adults and kids) and spent a week "together" - but the house had enough room we could be "apart" when we wanted. It was a short enough walk to the beach, but the pool at the house got plenty of use. This was the perfect house for us.

The property was as it was described.Very clean, spacious, well-maintained. the top floor did get warm throughout the day. I would recommend more ceiling fans.

Summer Winds 8/17
Home is spacious, some furniture is 'tired.' Lounge chairs by pool had cracks and were dull/grey. Would rent again.

Third time staying here, nice house
This is my family's third time staying at this property. It's a very nice house and a great location not too far from the beach. It's definitely more worn the 3rd time around. The carpet is worn and furniture is showing wear and tear but would still really recommend. We had a very nice stay.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate the input. These owners upgrade multiple areas of the home each year to stay on top of the hard seasonal usage. They have carpets spiffed four times during the season since Summer Winds is a pet-friendly home. Surely everyone enjoyed the new couch in the media room, all the new King mattresses and comforters! This house was perfect for our family vacation. I loved that the house had a bedroom and bathroom for each family. it was great having the pool for the kids!

Making memories 2017
This was our families second time staying at Summer Winds and it was just as beautiful as the first. We had 16 adults whom some were from different parts of the States that stayed like last time and all went well, plenty of room for everyone. Close access to the beach and the house provided jjust about everything you would need ( except an electric can opener, the hand one doesn't work either). Our young adults were disappointed that they couldn't make use of the volleyball court due to all of the nasty sand burs but they had plenty of fun in the pool and hot tub. We did have some spiders in different rooms (one in one of the beds) and had some ants in the kitchen but we took care of them with ant traps. Overall no major complaints and nothing to damper our fun had by all. Perfect house for adults needing their own rooms and bathrooms! It could use a lttle better landscaping to the lawn like the other houses surrounding it but a very nice vacation home in all. Happy vacationers over all!!

great vacation
great location, walk to beach not bad at all. House offered lots of amenities, well maintained and furnished (cleaning crew probably could have done better) nice pool, with heating option, elevator lift very handy for luggage esp. overall great stay, would rent again

Very nice house. We had issues with water from the a/c unit which were quickly fixed.

Loved this House
Most well stocked kitchen in the many years we have been renting on OBX. House was well set up. Loved the porches. The only caveat is that some of the beds seriously need new mattresses.

Good rental but with a few changes could be great !
The house fit our criteria perfectly. The amount of bedrooms with each one having it's own bathroom. Short walk to beach. Sheets and bath towels came with the rental. This was not our first trip to OBX. So we do have something to compare it to. Some of the beds were in need of new mattresses. I didn't know dish towels were not supplied. They have been in other rentals. Other little things
Board games ,playing cards, movies were not provided for our night time entertainment. Update your coffee pots. One dishwasher is not enough for the size of house hold. Don't get me wrong, We did like the house and we had a great time . A few changes would make this a great rental!

The owner does stock the house at the beginning of each season with the games and dishtowels you mentioned, but they have a nasty habit of walking off with guests throughout the season. Summer Winds was Wonderful!
We arrived to Summer Winds and found the property clean and ready for us to begin our vacation. The owners have thought of everything especially in the kitchen. This property is spacious and had plenty of room for us all to spread out. The elevator was a welcome amenity as we used it to transport our luggage and other things to the 3rd floor. Sure beat carrying everything up the stairs! And speaking of the 3rd floor, you are in for a treat in regards to the master suite on this level! The pool and hot tub were clean and we enjoyed them both nearly every day. Thankfully, we had the pool heated because the weather during our stay wasn't as beautiful as we had hoped, but that didn't stop us from enjoying our time at Summer Winds. The beach is just a short walk away and was easily accessed. Parking was more than ample. I would definitely recommend this property to families looking for a place that is clean, spacious and full of amenities.

Summer Winds vacation 2016

Good Vacation
The house was nice. A few things needed to be fixed and maintained. (weeds in the volleyball court, deck chair broken, pool table cues were broken). Overall good rental, management people and pool people very responsive.

Our Stay at Summer Winds
The property is beautiful and in walking distance to the beach. We found the house clean and in good repair. Since we did a lot of cooking, my only wish is that the kitchen had a garbage disposal. The customer service was top-notch and any concerns were answered promptly. We enjoyed our week and I would recommend this property to friends.
