Carolina Cottage - K1560

Our family of 5 had a wonderful week! We especially loved the pool and hot tub. The layout and amenities of the house were great. We really liked the location with a lot of restaurants and things to do close by. The only thing we wished was better was the cleanliness.

It was our first family reunion and we had a great time. The house,pool and hot tub were great.

I never stay at the same house every year because I have never found one that was perfect. This was so perfect for my family and fur baby! Clean, had everything needed. The bypass was there but never even noticed. Short walk to the beach and close to everything. Definitely will box this one again next year.

The house is a quick and easy walk to the beach. The upstairs is spacious and great for a family gathering. The bedrooms were roomy and beds comfortable. Overall great experience at the house. The only downside is the busy highway out front can be a little noisy for the front facing bedrooms. That is to be expected.

The only issue was the pool heater was not turned on when we arrived. It was on the next day though. It only worked for about 3 days then went into a "FLO" error and did not heat any more.

We stayed for a week very nice clean house close to everything enjoyed the hot tub swimming pool and the pool table, the weather wasn't too bad. We enjoyed Southern Shores pizza was very delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who want close to everything and a great view of the beach from the back of the house. We had a great time :) :) Thank you Beach Realty for all your help :)

Beach Realty was a pleasure to work with! They took care of everything we needed. The house was very clean, nicely decorated and in a great location! We will use Beach Realty again in the future!

Have rented this property several times, this time a 2-week stay which was so needed! This house fits my large family exceptionally well! We love it!!

Beautiful home that clean and well equipped. Enjoyed our time from the moment we arrived until departure. Conveniently located to the beach, shopping, restaurants, etc. Did not like the house/driveway being located on the bypass. Other than that, loved everything about the home.

Property description was accurate, all was cleaned, and well maintained. I would recommend this property to friends or relatives.

Rental unit was as described. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need from cooking to baking (if you want to do that sort of thing on vacation :>) ). Getting to the beach was easy. Family had a great time and look forward to returning in 2022.

The home was every bit as great in person as it looked on the listing. Would recommend to anyone.

Super-duper clean! And so well-organized for ease of settling in and using the kitchen! We'd expect some wear/tear/smell for being dog-friendly, BUT IT'S so clean/tidy/comfortable. Easy to walk (<5 min) to the beach. Too early for pool use, but it sure looked clean and inviting! Windows let the sunrise and sunset be enjoyed from the top floor and deck. We'd gladly stay here again! (Wish it were a bit further from the road, but cannot fault the owners-- they've made it wonderful once you're inside!)

Home very clean - never even saw a bug all week! Pool and Hot Tub cleaned 7:30 am on day of arrival and they cane back mid week and were at house at 8:30 morning we left, mowing service there on Friday so was in great shape when we came and for next family. Good location! Beware sand on walkway into beach is HOT! Don’t wear flip flops!

The Carolina Cottage was as described. It was a very nice house with Basically everything we needed. We had two adult couples and two children (6 people) staying in the house and there was plenty of room. We also took our two dogs. Having the pool table, the pool and hot tub was really nice! There is also another refrigerator on the bottom level with the pool table which was very helpful and convenient. The house was clean. There was a decent amount of pool and beach toys, chairs and umbrellas to use if needed. It needed a little maintenance Here and there. The hammock out by the pool was falling apart and there were some light bulbs that needed replaced inside and on some of the balconies. I also had to call to request for the lawn to be mowed. Since the fenced in area by the pool has no grass I had to walk my dogs for potty breaks and their small dogs. the grass was taller than them. In one of the bedrooms on the second level, the one with its own bathroom, no the jack and Jill bathroom, had no closet space because they were locked with the owners stuff which was inconvenient for the people staying in that room. The walk to the beach wasn’t too far. Took about 5-10 minutes. There’s a path behind the house the gets you pretty close. The driveway is directly off of the main highway which at first I was a little concerned about just because that highway is so busy but the driveway is long enough you feel safe and we got used to it. You can hear some road noise in the room on that side of the house but if you bring a box fan it covers it up for the most part. All and all it was a good place with nice amenities and extras. I would stay there again.

The house was exactly as the pictures and description noted.Everything was clean and working. The kitchen was well stocked and we had all we needed for our vacation.

We love our stay at Caroline Cottage. We have a family of eight, including four kids, and we had plenty of room. The kitchen has everything needed to make dinner at home. We love the area and the many activities to do with the kids. The house is off the primary high way in Outer Banks, which makes the room load at night time, besides that the home is perfect.
We are planning to go again soon!

I was part of a group of 8 (4 couples) that stayed at this beach house for 1 week in July 2019. The house had everything we needed. Towels and linens were provided which was a plus. Location is a 5 minute short walk to the beach (access path behind the house we shared with 1 neighbor leads directly to the ocean) The pool was nice and someone came to clean it mid week. There are lots of beach toys/boogie boards etc for the beach. A gas grill is also provided. Overall the house was great. The front room is a little noisy due to the main road being just 75 feet from the house, but we got used to the cars.
The only real complaint I have is the rugs weren’t very clean. When you looked at your socks after walking around the house you could notice all the dog hair on them (we didn’t bring a pet). No complaints with any other cleaning aspect.

Good location and very clean.

This was our first time visiting the outer banks and although we were not sure what to expect prior to arriving, we were more than pleased with the property, quiet beaches and all the amenities the surrounding area had to offer. Our rental was easy to find and within walking distance to beach access, stores and several restaurants. The property was as described, very accurate to all pictures provided and clean both inside & out with a lovely ocean view from the back upper decks. It provided more than enough space for our family group of 8 plus dogs to comfortably relax for the week. The property was well stocked (kitchen utensils, vacuums, and supplies to accommodate small children/babies) with fresh linens/towels provided. The pool and hot tub were both very clean and well maintained. HOWEVER, we did not appreciate the pool cleaner walking into and through the house unannounced to service the hot tub on the second floor the morning we were packing to depart, as it is not accessible from outside. This unexpected "intrusion" was the only reason the overall rating received 4/5 stars. Otherwise, we could not have been happier with our vacation and overall experience! Definitely planning to return :)

This was our second time staying at Carolina Cottage. The location to beach and anything you want to do is great. Layout of the house and pool are perfect for our family. Thank you for another great OBX summer vacation!

I was with a group of seven people (three couples and one single) and it was perfect for us. Some things I particularly enjoyed: the third floor balcony (faces the beach, great for watching the sunrise, or sitting in the shade in late afternoon), master bed (very comfy), the mini-pool table on the bottom floor (I finally won a game), the pool (a little warmer than the ocean), and those plastic Adirondack chairs (good lumbar support!). The kitchen was well stocked (I brought my own knife, though, so can't comment on those) and the living/dining area was spacious. The house is close enough to the beach (8-minute walk), and not too close to neighbor houses, so there's a good sense of privacy. We would definitely consider staying here again! (The only less-than-five-star review I've given below, on "general condition," is because the upstairs toilet lid kept coming off the base,... I wish I could give it 4.7 stars or something. The general condition was good, but not perfect.)

We had a great family vacation, the house was so cozy and very clean, they had a well stocked kitchen which was important to my husband the cook. I was disappointed it was located on a very busy highway. The realtor company was very attentive

It was Great. All the comforts of home for my family of 6. Easy access to the beach. Conditions were clean and comfortable, cooking pots could be replaced, but that would be my only criticism.

Our family stayed in the Carolina Cottage for a week. It has all the amenities that we needed and more! The private pool is a must for a beach vacation. We spent hours out at the pool and in the courtyard. The house, itself, is in excellent condition. We loved having a washer and dryer on site. The rooms were comfortable and there was plenty of seating for our party of 5. We didn't feel cramped at all. The noise from the highway can be loud, but we didn't notice it after the first day. The main rooms are all in the back of the house, so the noise is blocked. We would absolutely return to the Carolina Cottage again in the future!

THe home was very nice and clean.Had every thing we needed.The road noise was loud,but after the moter bikes left it was better.The only thing I did't like,was the home had only two exites on the lower way out from up stairs.

The home was perfect for our family of four and our dog. Kitchen is very well equipped and my kids loved the pool table and having a tv in the bedrooms!

The rental company took care of all our inquiries. The only thing they weren't good about calling us back but they did take care of all our problems.

We spent a week at the cottage in mid-May and had a wonderful time. The cottage is in a convenient location to restaurants, shopping and the beach. The furnishings are up-to-date and in good condition. The kitchen is one of the best stocked that I have encountered in a rental. There are two full size refrigerators in the cottage, a gas grill, pool toys and beach chairs available. The management was quick to respond to requests. All of the employees that we encountered were friendly and professional. It is very convenient to have a full size washer and dryer located on the floor of the main bedrooms. There is parking available for up to five vehicles. We had up to 15 people present at one time and there was more than enough space in the cottage/at the pool to allow for individual quiet space, if needed.

Well-equipped home for a relaxing, fun vacation.

We had a wonderful week at Carolina Cottage. The views are amazing from the second and top floor decks. The pool and hot tub are great and my favorite part of the house. Carolina Cottage was clean, well maintained and well stocked. The road noise is a little annoying but not too bad.

This was our first visit to OBX, so I really took a guess when I booked this home. I will say, that pulling up to home I was feeling a little uneasy; wondering if I had made the right decision. I definitely did! The inside was perfect!! The lay-out was great- we were only a family of 4 so we had a lot of space! Even with 6-8 people I think we would have been ok. The pool was awesome- a must for the beach. Everything we needed was there. We had to make a service call for the hot tub, and they were really fast in coming out, but it was just a re-set issue. It would be nice to have the manual so I didn't have to waste anyone's time. You are pretty close to the main highway but there is no traffic in the evening so you wouldn't realize it. The only drawback, for us, was that we were 2 streets back from the beach. It was too close to drive so lugging all of our beach paraphernalia was kind of a pain. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

This was our second year in a row staying at the Carolina Cottage. We love the views from the second and third floors. Thoroughly enjoyed the first floor pool room. We love the pool (& the fact that it is cleaned twice a week). We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the property. Considering renting the property again next summer.

This was our second year in a row vacationing as a family in the Outer Banks. We were very unimpressed with the company and house that we had last year! It was a completely different story this year. We got into town early. I called to inform the company, and they assured me that I would get a call as soon as our house was ready. After a little beach time and shopping, we got a call at 3:30 to come and get our keys! The house was very clean and well maintained. The yard and pool were tended to mid-week which shows that they care about the property and their guests. As a family of 4, we had more than enough room in the house. We were able to bring our dog too! We loved having the luxury of the pool after a long day on the sand and in salt water! Especially with small children. We couldn't be more satisfied with the house. It was in a great location. Close to stores, restaurants, and activities. We had the option to book the same house, the same week next year! The only reason we didn't is because we want to try different towns every year. However, I will definitely be booking with Beach Realty again next year! Thank you for a great vacation!

The house was very nice and in a good location. The only thing missing is storage bowls with lids.Rental agency forgot to tell cleaning people about our early check in she had to rush to clean the house. She was very apologetic and was efficient. Not her fault.

We absolutely love this house. The views are amazing. It has a pool, is pet friendly and is very close to the beach. Such a great place to stay. I'm sure we will be back!

Beautiful well-designed house with great ocean view. Featured many decks for privacy. Very clean and well stocked with pans/kitchen items/vacuum cleaner/broom/iron and ironing board. House in perfect location for family. Hot tub and pool wonderful amenities enjoyed by all. Easy to set up reservation and good communication as needed with rental. Vacation "10/10" in my opinion!

Excellent. The only factor not favorable was the property location which is on a very busy highway with traffic noise 20 hours per day. But, close enough to the public access to make it worthwhile.

nice and clean, best clean cottage we've stayed in over 3 years !!! Thank you for cleaning the carpet spots of previous renters before we got there, very much appreciated.
Road noise however, a bit much on weekends but other than that, very nice stay ! Pool maintenance was great as well, as we got a visit from the pool person on Tuesday

We had a wonderful time in the Carolina Cottage. It was just the right size for our family and had all of the amenities we enjoy.

The only drawback if there is a negative would be the road noise. But unless you have a light sleeper or small child you get used to it. Location to beach and anything you want to do is ideal. The house itself is perfect, pool, view, everything. I would definitely stay at Carolina Cottage again and recommend it as a great rental! We had no complaints or need to contact beach realty for anything!

We have stayed in the area several times and at different places and agencies each time. The condition and cleanliness of this location was by far the best! The kitchen was very well equipped, however, we were surprised to find that there was no salt or pepper in the pantry -- not that big a deal but be prepared. We highly recommend this place! ENJOY

Very nice house, enjoyed our stay.Walking distance to beach is short / path out back.Ample parking, nice pool. The decks were fantastic.
