Great house and location for the price. Easy walk across street to public beach access. Everything worked as it should. Attached bathrooms in 2 bedrooms is very nice. Hot tub is under cover of top floor, so pretty private. Wonderful view of sunrise. Plenty of pots/pans, dinnerware, etc. in kitchen. Definitely has the beachy feel I was looking for.

Beautiful home, awkward layout
The house was beautiful however the layout was 'different' with the kitchen and main living room on the 3rd floor. The hot tub and pool were exceptional. One note for the owners (or realty company)... the passive aggressive notes all over the place made it slightly uncomfortable. A vacation home is supposed to feel like the guests home away from home and the guests should be made to feel welcome. The notes made me feel as if I was staying in a subpar hotel/motel. I paid $2K for the week (off peak). You would think with this caliber home (and price) that the guests could be treated in a more adult like fashion.

We loved staying at the Blue Heron! The canal and woods were behind us where we saw turtles, deer and beautiful sunsets, only 1 row of houses in front of us with ocean views, close to restaurants and 2 piers but was still quiet, and a short walk to the beach using the June St access, this house was the perfect location. Some of the bathrooms were dirty upon arrival, but that's my only complaint. We hope to be back to stay here!

Perfect Family Stay
The Blue Heron was great for our multi-generational family, with people from 6 months through retirement. The house had more than enough space, the kids loved the pool and hot tub, and it was very convenient to the beach. Highly recommend!

We loved the Blue Heron because of its location and pool. The kitchen is well stocked with all items needed. There was a problem with drain in one of the showers but a call to Beach Realty and it was quickly fixed. Beds were comfortable and huge kitchen table was great for eating and game playing. The owners need to look at ceiling vents as they need a little love, but overall the house was clean.

Wonderful location we loved the fact that the view from the front of house was ocean and the back was the very lush canal (could watch turtles and deer early in the morning), very nice pool and hot tub (very clean). This was the first time we rented from Beach and the Owners of The Blue Heron had a fully functioning and stocked kitchen (appliances, knives and gadgets) we have rented before and there was very little kept in the kitchen to help prepare a meal. The maintenance issue was the loose/popped up top step. The cleanliness issue was both master bathroom toliets were dirty. Unusual since the other 2 bathrooms were clean when we arrived.

Big Blue Beach House, that is the grand kids called it.
We had a great time, only 4 houses away from the beach. A nice walk. Quiet area and saw wildlife, that really interested the grand kids. Turtles, deer, snakes, and the bullfrogs after the evening rain were singing us to sleep all from the area. Took long walks on the beach, a few restaurants were within walking distance and far enough away that we couldn’t see or hear them. 15 minute drive to a lot of restaurants. Almost forgot, the pool was great, a little cool the first week of June but we had a great time in it! The AC quit but the staff got it up and cooling within a couple of hours, this was found after 4pm. Very good job! Over
all a great experience for the whole family, one we would love to do again. The youngest grand kid asked, if we could go back to the beach house and the beach just last week.

Second Year in OBX
This was our second year at OBX. We chose this house because of the location and the fact it had a pool. The house was comfortable and well furnished. A little disappointed with the kitchen. Small and not well equipped. The bedrooms were all comfortable, but a bit small. The pool was a big hit, and all the decks were great. Great view at night on the back deck looking at the stars! Beach access was very close by. All in all I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

Another wonderful week at the beach!
This is a great house. The kitchen is well-stocked, we were very please with the layout, and the décor is lovely. I highly recommend The Blue Heron!

Blue Heron Home
The Blue Heron home is a beautiful home that is located just one house behind oceanfront with a public beach access. The back of the home overlooks the sound. There was lots to look at in the back, deer birds and turtles. Sunsets and star gazing was a nice treat. We only had 2 recommendations. 1 enclose the 1st floor porch, mosquitos kept us away from the hot tub. 2 not enough seating for
watching TV on main floor (this was only a problem when we had rain obe evening and wanted to have a family movie night) House was very nicely decorated, kitchen had more items than our own home, beds were very comfortable. Loved having seating on every porch, dining table was extremely large. The home is just down the road from the grocery store and other shopping and touristing things to do. We love this part of South Nags Head, its away from traffic and the beach is quiet.

Great rental!
It was a great location, close to beach access. Nice, clean pool. We really liked the deck furniture and pool seating. Would definitely recommend.

A wonderful vacation 2015
It was amazing. The weather was great. The kids spent almost ALL their time in the pool or at the beach, except for a few sight seeing road trips. Just wish the linens would be included in the price. It is definitely a great house!!
