OBX Family Getaway
House was lovely! Big wrap around deck, hot tub on the top deck, pool in the back. The kitchen was absolutely stocked with everything you may need for cooking. This was exactly what we were looking for.

Great time at the Tookery
Our family had a great time celebrating my husbands 50th birthday. The house was much bigger and better looking than the pictures led on. The beach was not far from the house at all. I thought it would be a further walk but it was not bad at all. The pool lights were not working. This was the only issue we had with the house. We were very disappointed in not being able to enjoy the pool in the evening as much as we would have liked to.

A wonderful and very relaxing experience
Overall, our experience was excellence. The home was clean, short walk to beach and overall fit our family's needs. The private pool and hot tub were both an added bonus. We also appreciated the puzzles that we did as a family when we returned in the evening.
The only negative aspect of the house was insects within the residence. If it had not been spayed, it probably should be.

Wonderful Stay
My family had a wonderful week at The Rookery and hope to return again. The outdoor pool, hot tub, and multiple decks were our favorite part. Our only negative feedback was that the house did not seem to be deep cleaned before our arrival. We found black hair everywhere throughout the house- in the showers, in the trundle bed, where the carpet meets the was a little gross to think that the house might not have been cleaned well before we came. I did bring cleaning supplies and made sure to clean tubs and highly touched surfaces area before we moved in. Also, the rental company did take 2 days to bring us our sheets for one of the bunk beds. I'm guessing they were very backed up on the Saturday arrival day, but that was a little set back Night 1. Otherwise, great location, great layout, great amenities, just need a little clarification with the cleaning and linen company.

Great Beach House
We've been vacationing at the OBX for almost 20 years, switching houses every time. We were delighted by our stay at the Rookery. Fantastic layout, not too far from beach, large pool, well-stocked kitchen, and well-stocked beach amenities. The decks were great for hanging out on. Everything was well-organized, clean, and thoughtful. We were very, very happy with our stay!

Great Family Home

Our 6th year staying at the Rookery and this year was as great as the others. Several changes have made a stay here even better. New TVs and wiring have made using TVs a breeze. New furniture in several rooms. New faucet in kitchen, plus numerous new photos and knickknack throughout have brought the Rookery to almost a new home feeling. Home was very clean when we arrived. Everything worked perfectly.
Only time we needed to talk to the rental agency was to reserve for next year.

We would stay here every trip... the house felt like home and was absolutely wonderful. We lived the fact that the property has a private pool. The kitchen was stocked with anything and everything you would need. The house is close to the beach, shopping And grocery stores. Perfect location!

Amazing!
This was our first visit to the OBX and it was amazing! Staying at the Rookery made it even more amazing! The house was clean and well stocked with all the kitchen essentials you would need! The layout of the house was perfect! My wife and I stayed on the top floor and our 4 kids that are in their late teens to early 20’s had the second floor to themselves. The pool was a treat and used daily! Short walk to the beach we walked there every morning to watch the sunrise and took long walks there every night after dinner! It was all we hoped it would be and more!

Rookery is the spot to vacation! We were treated with utmost professionalism from arrival to departure. Due to limited traffic, we arrived early and were allowed to enter the house and begin our fun filled vacation. The house was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything needed to feel like home away from home. On the second day, the realty company added another nice touch by reaching out to us to ensure we had everything we needed. The pool was up and running with clear refreshing water and the hot tub was the relaxing part of every night. Each day was filled with walks on the beach, bike rides, taste of Corolla and late night hot tubs. Walks to the beach were only 7 minutes long on a nice paved road and amazing trex decking path. Loved this place and will be back for another round soon.

As usual our stay was great. House is absolutely wonderful. Being able to have our dog makes it even better. Only problem was the cable boxes upstairs were both bad, however the management company got the situation corrected quickly. Keyless entry is nice also.

Overall everything worked out well. While it took some time to get to the beach, the pricing on the house was what we were looking for. The grill situation was disappointing and as a result we didn't grill out. It would have been helpful to have some printed instructions to go with the TV/Cable etc. Multiple remotes made it challenging. As stated, the house was comfortable and it was a great stay!!

Great House needing a little Clean TLC
It was a great house. We loved that the hot tub was on the main floor, very convenient. The house came with a few pool floats and toys, along with a beach cart and beach chairs which was a nice welcomed surprise. Overall - a great house! It fit us all perfectly, we had a mini family reunion. We came with a 2.5 year old - so we were extremely glad that there was a fenced in pool that she couldn't climb over and all of the decks were completely safe. A con i would say is that it wasn't completely spotless when we checked in. Although, i did not call the property manager to fix it but i'm sure they would have if i did. The stove also could use an upgrade. other than that, the house is great! It is a little bit of a walk to the beach but not too bad. I would suggest bringing your bicycles or scooter to make the trek a bit faster. It's about a 10 minute walk (carrying a 2.5 year old).

Wonderful stay the Rookery
This was third time at the Rookery. We had a great week with the exception of issues with certain house amenities. This included a dirty grill with one burner not working and a control knob not properly functioning. Also, the beach buggy’s handle would not stay in a lock position and could not be used. The pack and play would not stay in a locked position. Also, one of the House pictures show a porta crib, but one was not in the house. The staff was responsive to our issues and were all fixed except for the grill and buggy which continued to have issues as mentioned above. We love this house and would stay here again, but would like to see some updates with these issues.

Pretty good place and great value
The house is in a great location in about 1 mile from Corolla, NC for all shopping needs. Two blocks off the beach. Large with lots of rooms and beds. Amenities are anything you would need for a vacation.

Another great vacation
This was our fourth year in a row staying at the Rookery. The condition of the home was excellent as usual. Clean from top to bottom. A very small maintenance issue came up that was addressed immediately and cleared in less than a day. Outstanding support from both the owners and the property manager. Absolutely recommended to everyone. Already reserved for our fifth year.

Birthday Getaway
The house was mostly clean. Well kept, the extras were definitely a positive. The kitchen had everything you could possibly want. The location was good, close to all the shops and beach but far enough away to have peace and quiet. The pool was nice, and the hammock was a sweet treat in the evening breeze. Overall was a good experience.

Our third year in a row at the Rookery. The layout of the house is perfect for us. With the kitchen/dining area/master bedroom all on the same floor everything is very convenient. Although a number of businesses are closed at this time of the year several grocery stores are nearby plus quite a few restaurants are also open within a short drive. The property itself has always been neat and clean upon our arrival. Any issues such as cable/phone outages or just general questions have always been addressed quickly by the rental staff. We have already booked our reservation for a fourth year.

Second year in a row
Liked it the first time and liked it even better the second. Will be back again next year. Wife and I use it for our getaway week. We bring our dog and relax without any drama. Although some places are closed during this time frame, the ones that are open are more than sufficient for our needs.

Great beach vacation!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rookery. The home was clean and had a nicely updated kitchen. The master bedrooms were very comfortable with large bathrooms. We are planning on staying at the Rookery again next summer.

The beach was fabulous and the location was great. Home was not very clean on the outside. Lots of sand, spider webs and overall not well kept. The house layout and upkeep was very nice.The house was clean and well equipped inside.

The Rookery
The inside of the home was fully equipped with all household utensils, and appliances.for the most part it was neat and clean. Just a few stains on the carpet. The deck outside is weathered and had several nail heads sticking up. I would recommend this home to friends. We had a great time there!
