Your Stay on the Outer Banks
With so much to do (not that you need to do a thing), we are happy to provide recommendations to help you decide where to spend your time when out and about on the Outer Banks. Along with our recommended community partners below, you will find much to do during your stay.
As a barrier island surrounded by water on both sides, activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, and fishing are prevalent. There are also many ways to enjoy nature away from the beach if you want to mix it up. Visit one of the famous lighthouses or historical attractions like the Wright Brother's Memorial or Jockey's Ridge, or hike in Nags Head Woods Preserve. Feeling competitive? Play mini golf, check out a fishing pier like Avalon or Jeannette's, or visit one of our extreme adventure parks (Corolla and Nags Head - both have one!).
If you want indoor fun, catch a movie, or find unique souvenirs at one of the hundreds of shops. Of course, you can grab a bite to eat at one of the many excellent restaurants. Depending on which direction you enter the Outer Banks from, you will find many options on the way in or out, such as the H2OBX Waterpark up in Powell's Point, the Aquarium, the Lost Colony, or Elizabethan Gardens on Roanoke Island! Make the Outer Banks your perfect adventure, and rest assured, while there are many ways to have fun, it's quite okay just to spend your time relaxing in your home away from home while here.
